Well even i feel Ram's either one parent can be alive because there was a track in S1 in which Ram's mother was alive & Priya brought her back & unite the mother-son duo & Ram got to know what a thrash his father was. It was him brainwashed Ram abt his mother & created a MU in his mind and the mastermind was Niharika

Since they are keeping the core essence alive this can be a possible scenario
