I am gonna assume there was a divorce & some assets were split - hence the joint ownership of the bakery.
Sara & MS were supposed to be spliting the instalment (bakery must hv been bought on mortgage).
But Sara was running thr bakery so she would have earned at least half of the takings.

The Sood ladies apartment belongs to their Mama (Akki’s parents). So no rent.
Priya was giving tutions during her college as mentioned in passing by Sandy.

Maybe Maitri also did some part-time tho she comes across as dumb & useless.

Still it would have been very difficult for the Sood ladies. Maybe Meera did some odd jobs or their Mama supported them financially. That is why they also took care of Akki like a son & supported his film line struggle.

In one episode, Akki’s Dad said the house belongs to him and his sister, so I assume it is inherited by them jointly from their parents.

MM is a jack of all trades, she does saree dying and recently we are told she taught Sara the basics of baking

Weren’t Akki’s parents needed for that rasam? Is it too much to expect a one line explaining their absence?

Love is the feeling that raises the low (not always, but...), makes the high even higher and teaches us to do things beyond our expectations, just for the sake of another. This is exactly what happened to Priya, she did it without expectation, so she will get much more in return.
