I am still kinda hoping that this whole social distance thing is becoz of the prequel and that it might change after the prequel

On the contrary I think the romance will be more intense with the growing age. It is strong and mature like totally upfront. I understand they are getting married for the first time in life. But the love is old and grown in past few months. Personally if you ask me, I like this old age romance more, there is some stability in personalities and relationship. Understanding is already great in MaAn's relation and they both trust each other.
