Absolutely with you on a the confession from both sides. Keeping in mind both their personalities and temperaments, the sufferings and the stage they are at, this makes the most sense. I do wish they considered something on those lines.

No writing marriage next. I said consummation is very difficult for me to write for the reasons I mentioned. Will see.
Part 2: The promise
Virat and Sai entered the house hand in hand. Everyone is still busy, so they had to tunnel their way towards the Mandap to find his parents and Kaku. As Shivani and Rajeev are doing the rituals, Virat went to his Kaku and father who were sitting close to the mandap. He went on his knees and expressed his desire to take the vows with Sai again after his aunt's wedding is completed. BK as usual is disgruntled with this suggestion but Ninad agreed to it readily. He knew they needed it. So he convinced his SIL into acceding.
The word spread to all the family members within minutes. Everyone is beaming except for Pakhi who is in the verge of tears. She could not say much as for once, the entire family seem to be on one side. Her ardent supporter BK also looked powerless in front of Virat's happiness. He looked ecstatic not leaving Sai's hand even for a second. This is the end, she understood. She had known it long back that Virat can never come back to her. But she was hoping Sai would leave him and by making herself free from Samrat, she can get an opportunity to approach Virat and rekindle the past. However looking at Virat today, she understood fully that her plans would have never worked. In that moment, she had to surrender to the grander plans of the destiny.
Shivani and Rajeev's marriage began with Kanyadaan of the bride in the hands of Sai and Virat. It was rather amusing to see the young couple recite all those mantras that usually parents do. Everyone was smiling heartfully making the event more joyful.
Sai whispered something in her husband's ear and excused herself to her room after the Rasm. Karishma followed her giving everyone the needed answer that she is going to be dolled up as the bride. Few minutes later, Samrat was signaled by BK to follow him to her room. He returned with a royal Peshwa turban that belonged to late Nagesh Chavan. She commanded Samrat to help Virat adorn it. Virat was overwhelmed at her gesture as it meant her full acceptance of his decision.
Few minutes later, the priest asked Virat to the take place of the groom and summoned the bride. There it was, the most breathtaking and fulfilling sight Virat had ever imagined. His wife, again as a bride walked down the stairs, while her four brothers held the Chaadar (veil) over her head. Samrat and Mohit protecting her from the front, while Pulkit and Sunny having her back. All four of them, gained by her love and trust looked like an army in themselves threatening away any danger that can reach her. His eyes welled up on realizing how she must have felt when her so called brothers could not come to her support when things went wrong. He promised to himself silently not to make her alone ever with his decisions.
His father, who is now more of hers walked her down to the Mandap while Ashwini blessed her with kisses. She could not hold her tears that looked more like an apology as she choked while talking "Sorry my dear for treating you like nobody. I am a fool to not see what you hold. If Virat is my biggest joy then you are the preserver of that joy. No one but you can make him smile the way he does now", she said pointing Sai to see her son who could not hide his joy even with a straight face.
Sai walked into the mandap and approached Virat with Varmala. Karishma, Devi tai and Shivani were asking Virat not to bow down easily. They asked Sunny to lift Virat up so Sai could not reach to which Sunny rightly showed a thumbs down. As soon as Sai lifted her arms, Virat lowered his head automatically making her giggle. She readily placed the Varmala to which everyone laughed out loud.
"Didnt I say so", Sunny screamed from the back. "This guy is a lost cause", he laughed heartily along with others.
"But we will not let him get our sister easily", shouted Samrat. He along with Mohit lifted Sai so high that even stretching to his might, Virat could not reach her neck.
"Leave me Dada. Leave me Mohit bhaiyya", screamed Sai. "Let me marry my husband", said Sai rather irritatingly making everyone laugh aloud. Even BK had a slight smirk at the corner of her mouth.
Virat placed the garland around her neck and hugged her lovingly.
The priest asked the elders to do Ghatbandan so they can take the seven vows circling around the fire.
Sai called out for Devi and Pulkit to do the honors. Virat understood why. The couple had been testament to loyalty and trust even after being separated for 10 long years. They have showed them what the commitment for life is to your spouse. Virat applauded Sai's decision and conveyed the same by nodding his head in aggrement. Devi and Pulkit gathered Navaratnas and Navadhanyas into the two ends of the top clothes from bride and groom and tied them together in auspicious knot.
Priest asked them to circle around the fire while holding hands as he started to recite the vows and explaining the meaning. Virat and Sai, silently yet sincerely made their own versions.
1. The vow of welfare and nourishment
Virat: I promise you Sai that I will work hard to provide everything needed to lead a peaceful life ahead.
Sai: I might not always be able to cook for you Virat Sir. But I will make sure you are well fed when I am around you.
2. The vow of protection
Virat: I promise you Sai that my love will not endanger you ever, like it had done before. I will make sure your safety is my priority.
Sai: I will be your moral support and guiding force while you strive to protect me and our family
3. The vow of prosperity
Virat: I promise you Sai that I will earn sufficiently so you will never have to face obstacles in pursuing your dreams.
Sai: I promise you Virat sir that I will make sure the burden of maintaining our family will be equally shared between us.
4. The vow of fidelity
Virat: I promise you Sai, never ever will I give you any reason to suspect my intentions or love towards you. I was loyal to you and will be loyal to you always.
Sai: I promise you Virat sir, that I will trust you with my life and support you in all your decisions.
5. The vow of progeny
Virat: I promise you Sai that I will be a good father to our children just like Kamal Sir had been to you.
Sai: I promise you Virat sir that I will wish for a girl child and will raise her to be the daughter you will be proud of.
6. The vow of Respect and Propriety
Virat: I promise you Sai that I will respect you and your decisions. I will make sure you are privy to all my personal matters so that you will make sure I dont falter or surrender to the vagaries of life
Sai: I promise you Virat sir, that I will respect and love you for the person you are. I will make sure there are no secrets between us.
7. The vow of friendship.
Virat: I promise you Sai that I will be your best friend for life.
Sai: I promise you Virat Sir that I will be your best friend for life.
Having made their own promises to each other, Virat filled the maang of Sai once again. Sai was asked by the priest to take blessings from her husband, which she did promptly while Virat blessed her to be the best doctor in the world.
Both of them hugged each other and went ahead to take blessings from the elders. Shivani and Rajeev. Sai and Virat lead family and friends to the feasting area where they rejoiced rest of the day feasting and reliving the memories Sai had created in less than 24 hours.
Their hands never leaving, eyes not wavering and smile not leaving their faces Sai and Virat made everyone who came to the wedding bless them with life long togetherness that they seem to deserve!!
