  1. Manjari was quite sensible today when she pointed out that for one to be right, their opponent doesn't have to be wrong. What's one person's truth (6) can be another's lie (9). Though I did find her reactions intriguing as she wasn't quite sold on the idea that the sisters did it. It seemed like she was puzzled because something else was going on in her head (spaced out, kind of).
  2. Aarohi didn't volunteer Akshu's name to the police. I'm pleasantly surprised. Though I'm not sure she'll correct Akshu and admit it (please do Aaru, please do something that makes you a better person cause you're not doing so well right now).
  3. I'm glad Abhi's being very open and clear about his feelings. It's not just that she "hid" this accident truth from him (their car hit his mom), it's that she lied to him on the phone when he inquired about her wellbeing (the day of the accident) and hid that she and Aaru were in an accident, to begin with. Part of his reaction is pent-up anger that he didn't express earlier. He believes she neglected his feelings in several incidences and I sympathize with him because that is such a sad feeling.

Some things are cleared up...

  1. Over the last few days, the forum has been speculating/talking about why Akshu didn't apologize to Manjari. Today it's clear that she never intended to because she didn't want Manjari to learn this truth. She spent a good chunk of the episode worrying that Abhi told Manjari the truth. It's contradictory behaviour for Akshu because she insisted earlier (during the Abrohi wedding track) that relationships cannot be built on lies but that is what she's doing right now. I don't necessarily blame her as she fears losing another mother, her Manjari Maa, and that's a risk she's not willing to take (I wouldn't either).
  2. Aarohi is over Abhira's shaadi (isn't trying to spoil it and hasn't since before the card swap incident), as she was happily dancing today, Goenka style, and talking to her sister like normal sisters do at wedding functions.

Questions

  1. I don't know what this episode says about the Goenka's - are they all particularly dull about Akshu's moods (unable to tell that she's abnormally tensed) or is Aarohi more observant for Akshu than she lets on?
  2. Will Manjari speak up in front of the police and say that Akshu's lying and Aarohi drove the car or will she let Akshu go down for this until Abhi interwines?
  3. Is Akshu even thinking about Abhi when the police show up or are she protecting Aarohi on autopilot? Because if she was thinking of him, I doubt she'd make the same choice. When Abhi learns Akshu lied to the police, he's going to be so upset, and see it as evidence that Akshu chooses Aarohi over him.

Sisters are scared of wrath and if they were so guilty of accident they should accept and apologize.

I know it's not easy for them coz it's serious issue and people are not strong enough to accept their fault but building a relationship on lie is not a right thing to do. Sooner or later truth would be out and it will have deeper impact on families and relationships.

Agreed! If there's anything these last few episodes have taught us, it's that the longer they hid this, the greater the devastation. Abhi's reaction is this intense, in part, because of the delay in sharing the information. Now if Abhi's reaction is like this, imagine how the two families will react and the impact it'll have on Akshu's mental health.

Wonderful post dear..I never thought in this way tht akshu doesn’t want manjari to knw because she doesn’t want to loose her as a mother..and u point out her taking the blame is eating up my brain too because if she takes the blame abhi would never forgive her and this will increase his insecurities more..

Either it's someone else who did the accident or it's abhimanyus plan to show akshu that aru dear doesn't care for her ..not enuf to admit her guilt in front of the police. Abhira r not married so obviously abhimnyu will support akshu.

I wish they followed a diff route and not spoil the wedding . In s1 and s2 , the wedding functions were ruined because of stupid suspense and foreboding which culminated into nothing. Destination wedding like kaira wedding means 1 more month. N there will be more of these stupid tracks in between .

So much for abhimanyus insecurities ..from "I will die if I don't get akshu" to "main ye shadi nai kar sakta" , n this is the second time. Pathetic writing . 🤢

I have said this so many times . Akshu will always be in trouble coz of aru and her instinct to protect aru. Lies and keeping secrets is what will put her love at stake always . There is no learning from the past it seems.

Akshara has embraced Manjari as a parent and thus shows confidence that Manjari will fix everything with Abhi and protect her. If Manjari distances herself from Akshu, as Manish did after the Abrohi wedding fiasco and heart attack, Akshara will be heartbroken because both assumed the role of parents.

As some people pointed out, the police-Mehendi thing might be a dream sequence so maybe she won't break his heart, though I think it's unlikely she'd do any different. This is how I justify or rationalize Akshara's character: Letting something bad befall Aarohi is inviting a panic attack. I think what people forget is that Akshara isn't just protecting Aarohi, she's protecting herself. Aarohi's success is as much hers as it is Akshara's - likewise, her downfall is Akshara's because Akshara has embraced Aarohi as a parent would. In the first episode, Manish said Akshara shouldn't let Aarohi trample all over her again, making it evident that everyone's aware of the lengths Akshara goes through to placate Aarohi, but Akshara dismisses him quickly saying giving up on Aarohi would be losing. So a parent of her choices isn't selflessness, but selfishness. For example, she broke Abhi's heart because she wanted to have a good relationship with Aarohi. Likewise, she is being selfish when she chose her sister over checking any victims of the accident. In instances where she chose Abhi (wedding fiasco, telling him the truth), those are the incidents where I say she's being selfless and honest.

I'm not mad at Akshara for any of this because it is progress. Progress and character growth aren't linear like everyone wishes they were with this show. For some people, it's two steps back for every one step forward before it catches pace, and it involves relapses. I think it's a sign she's human.

I disagree with a lot of your points, but I just want to comment on Akshu taking the blame based on what has been shown in the SBS segment. I want to watch the episode first, because I am sure there is more to the story, but these are my initial thoughts, because that segment really broke my heart.

Akshu has already lost hope that Abhi isn't coming to the mehendi. When she sees the cops, she might assume that he also is on board with this decision. I will say that Akshu would have taken the blame and gone to jail for literally anyone on the Goenkas or Birlas. She would have done it even for Harsh, who hates her. That is just who she is. She loves blindly.

And when it comes to Aarohi, she has gone against her many times -- she left her stranded at the mandap, she ran to tell Abhi the truth, Ruby track, etc... but it is when Aarohi is in danger, that Akshu collapses out of the guilt of her promise to Sirat. That was emotional abuse done to a kid, and that emotional abuse was built upon throughout her life by Aarohi. It will not go away suddenly in one day.

Character development takes time!!!

Just like Abhi's anger and impulsive rage won't go away over night, Akshu's soft spot for Aarohi, which originates out of guilt and trauma, won't either!!!

Akshu told Abhi the truth about who was driving, and that shows that she chose her relationship over protecting Aarohi when it came down to it. She told him the truth about the accident too (or so she thinks), again showing that she chose her relationship.

But, in the moment, when the cops show up, the poor girl, who was already an emotional wreck, thinking that abhi wasn't coming, lost it! Can we really blame her?? I personally don't think so.

I totally agree with you in that we need more perspective into Akshu's POV as the audience!!! It's so unfair that we never get to see her thought process, which is why I think so many fans resort to bashing her.

The way I see it is that the fandom has two extremes - Abhimanyu supporters and Aarohi supporters - Akshu's fans mostly come from the Abhira fandom leaving her more vulnerable to attacks. We've seen more consistency and intent in the characterization of the first two as well. It's so easy to bash her and I think that's the maker's fault, not Pranali's for her execution of many scenes is spectacular especially given how new she is to the industry.

I actually find Akshu to be the most relatable character on the show. I guess it's just a matter of perspective. A lot of Abhi's blind supporters are HC fans who watch the show just for him. I started watching for him as well, as I have followed him throughout all his shows. But, Pranali's portrayal of Akshu is just outstanding to me!
