Anuj stood leaning by the door mesmerized. No matter how many times he saw her dance, each time she took his breath away just as she had done the very first time he had seen her dance in college. He was not a good dancer but off late he never missed a chance to dance with her. His work had gotten over soon and he had dropped by to pick her up and take her home. As she twirled around and her eyes met his, she blushed. He did that to her everytime he came to watch her dance. Losing her balance a bit, she stepped on her pallu and the pin snapped making the pallu drop a little from her shoulder revealing a tiny bit of skin on the upper part of her chest. She hurriedly adjusted her pallu and looked up to see his unwavering gaze on her. Suddenly her heart started beating wildly and panic flooded her as another buried memory resurfaced.

Mr. Shah's relatives and cousins had come over for a visit and after cooking a 10 course meal, she had gone to serve them the food. While hurrying round to make sure everyone had everything, she accidentally stepped on her pallu and the pin snapped. She had immediately adjusted the pallu but he had noticed it. Pulling her inside the kitchen as soon as he was able to, he held her tightly by the hand

"What do you think you are doing?"

"I uh.."

"Do you want to do a free show for my cousins? Yesterday when I wanted to see, you didn't seem to have any pleasure. What sort of morals do you have that you want to show off to other men but don't have the same interest for your husband? Disgusting woman"

Dumbfounded by his argument, she had decided she would always tie her pallu to her waist while working. She had mistaken his iditiotic argument initially as some kind of possessive love only to later understand that it had never been love.

"Ma'am... are you okay?"

Snapping out of her reverie, she gathered herself and said

"Class is over today. We can meet tomorrow.."

She didn't dare to look at him until the class was empty. Once she was sure it was only them in the room, she glanced up at him

"Anuj.. uh..."

Unable to find the words as Mr. Shah's argument kept echoing in a loop in her ears, she shivered a little. In a trembling voice she mumbled

"Sorry, sorry, sorry... I didn't mean to... it won't happen again"

Anuj looked confused.

"Anu...? Why are you saying sorry?"

"Uh... the saree... I did pin it tightly. I don't know how it snapped. In front of the students too. I mean... other men.. I am..."

He quickly moved close to her and place a finger on her lips. Gently, he turned her around and examined her shoulder. The pin while snapping had pricked her skin and there was a scratch in her shoulder. He grazed the spot with his thumb and she closed her eyes breathing in deeply at the touch. Setting her saree pleats properly and securing it in place, he bent down and kissed her on her shoulder. As she felt his warm lips on her shoulder, she leant back tilting her head to on side giving him better access to her neck. He pulled back immediately. Unable to understand what he was doing, she snapped open her eyes and turned her neck to look at him. Gaining her full attention, he looked into her eyes.

"You don't become some other man's just because your pallu ripped by accident when some other man was standing by you. You were my Anu, are my Anu and always will be my Anu... And nothing is going to change that. Now let me get back to pleasuring you, my Lady. Sorry had to pull back to get your attention."

Saying so, he pulled her towards him, gently tilted her neck and placed his lips at the crook of her neck teasing her with butterfly kisses. Her hand moved of its own accord and wrapped around his neck tightly pulling him closer affirming his previous words that she belonged solely to him. His hands wrapped around her waist molding their bodies together as they swayed gently to the rhythm of their hearts.

26 yrs of abuse. Only Anuj can heal that considering the kind of loving and gentle man he is! Thanks for another beautiful story Tiana.

I wish Anupama writers include such scenes in the show after MaAn marriage coz they have never addressed how Anu also needs some healing after the abuse she has dealt with. Instead they are showing more and more fights!
