My issue is not that. Yes her mother may have ingrained these thoughts into her. Maybe she grew up in that kind of household/surroundings. Understandable. Baa’s character also I get. She is a typical MIL who just treats her no more than a servant and takes her for granted. She isn’t able to get over the fact that her ex DIL has the courage to walk out which doesn’t fall under her idea of an ideal bahu.

I have an issue with her character. She is supposedly Anu 2.0 who has fiercely walked out of the house, found a ground for herself and but still hasn’t managed to cut her off? Like what more will it take for her to let her go? Maa ne jo sikhaya yaad hai but is she blind to see it for herself? There’s a stark difference in how any elder person treats her v her baa. Like how much more will it take for her to understand that mothers are not like this? And for her to go back to her mother and give her a bhashan on how things have changed and her seekh is not valid anymore? The whole progress talk fails here. Progress isn’t just professional also personal - not that they have managed to show either well but personal progress has been rubbish. Atleast that way vannu has been constant. He was and still is an absolute garbage and I’m afraid, Anu is slowly reaching there. And sadly is dragging Anuj in this quick sand too! It is getting very very difficult to sympathise or relate with her or Anuj’s character either.

Same old fashioned mentality, she gave Vanraj too much respect, never called him by name. He was equal to God for her.. but why is she not giving the same respect to Anuj, her would be husband then. They way she treated him before Dance competition and now, is rude.

Have you read Tiana Ficlets, there she shows the old mentality Anu who respects husband and has reservations. But this Anu she commands over Anuj, that doesn't make any sense.

This Anu doesn't make any sense, no matter how much I give her benefit of doubt, I can't relate or understand her.

Maybe Anu was free spirited but less confident in her younger days. Given the fact of how Baa n V were, she had gone submissive and treated like god. I believe the respect was more due to fear than love.

With Anuj, they are friends and equals first then lovers toh that god wala treatment won’t be there. Also Anuj won’t want that. She definitely respects him.

about that behavior, I had written a long post then saying how Anu doesn’t know to communicate her griefs. She has handled it all alone for many years and at the most, she can open up with Baapuji.

Rest Devika n Anuj are newcomers in her life, toh she can’t get to share it with them. When they try to barge in, she shuts them off. she needs to learn on how to share her pain n grief with them… atleast for sure with Anuj. That open communication is much needed. In fact mai ne OS bhi likha tha on how she feels guilty n says that she will share things with him going forward etc etc



anyway she is a fictional character toh itna kya dimaag chalana
