On a serious note, I dislike the promo for a complete different reason -- besides the fact that Imlie is basically putting herself down and showing herself no self-respect, it is also ridiculous to cleaners.
I heard of this story -- in a really big business school (Harvard / Duke / Yale -- basically one of those premier schools), a professor had this Q in the exam paper -- "what is the name of the cleaning lady for this building?" and it was for something like 5-10 marks. The MBA students were annoyed and argued with him. He shot back that the cleaning lady has a name, has a life and is sincere about her job. If she didn't do her job properly, the building would stink and where would everyone go if they needed to use the toilet. As future managers, it is their job to ensure that every employee from top to bottom matter and that includes the quiet rather invisible ones on the bottom such as cleaners as they too contribute to the company. So if they want to be CEO, remember that every employee counts -- that was the professor's stern teaching. The next exam, all the students made sure to find out the lady's name and they were able to answer question.
Something that happened during the pandemic is that in our neighbourhood as well as other zones, there were functions held to appreciate the garbage collectors as well as security staff and cleaners (in buildings). Despite the overall panic, these workers came everyday to work and did their job sincerely. Even though they were afraid and hardly understood how this stupid virus might affect them, they showed up for work. Because of them, the city and neighbourhood was clean. They were rightfully appreciated by the city government as well as the general public. So many jobs like that came to the forefront -- EB (electricity board), water dept and so on. People appreciated their servants more when those workers could not come. How many people realized how much hard work cleaning is?! How many people realized that we are all interconnected and even those workers on the bottom count because without them, companies, neighbourhoods, cities cannot run.
As a daughter of servant, why is Imlie putting her own mother down? 🤦 That is so stupid. There is nothing wrong with Meethi being a cleaner and you don't have to use a profession as some sort of social humiliation tactic. That makes it look as if the profession such as cleaner have no value. A person's worth isn't defined by their profession. They may be paid less and on the bottom of the society but they work day in and day out. They have dreams, aspirations and they bring up their families to the best they can. They also have dignity.
- rant over - 🤷♀️ I hope this promo is just symbolic and not literal.
Fantastic post👏. Loved it.❤️
I hope they don't make Imlie pull all of these stupid stunts and when audiance will demand Imlie's redemption or her realising her own faults. They will show Aryan hurting Imlie to make her feel bad, something like tit for tat. And new MU
And the cycle will continue
This is what usually happens in other serials...
I just hope with Arylie pair writers will break this cycle😊
