At least in finale of II12 elimination took place so we knew the final 6 were in which positions.
For remaining 3, Wiki only states “finalist”
In II 12, numbers 4, 5 and 6 were expected order - not entirely agreeable, but expected. The only question was how far up they would push Sayli, and would they be able to make 2 joint winners.

Looking at the way the content team ran Sa re ga ma it's even more clear that the whole Indian Idol was fixed too.They definitely don't take voting into account.But Arunita ruined their plan.She was the breakout star. They didn't mind since she brought a lot of Trp but couldn't make her win. In Sa re ga ma everything went how they had initially planned.

TBH if "the whole Indian Idol was fixed too" then there would have been joint winners or either one of Arunita or Sayli would have won. From the very first episode they had been saying they want a female winner.

I thought they were tasked to make Sayli reach the podium.
Don't think they ever tried to make Arunita win. Not based on how they promoted her in their IG page at least.
But I am a biased fan so opinion can be clouded and one-sided.
Oh I didn't mean that they tried to make Arunita win more like despite her popularity and excellence they couldn't let her win.They had certain participants who they had a lot of hopes with and thought would do well. Those were promoted a lot initially. As for Sayali I never thought she would win.I think she's someone who grew close to the content team with time. Out of the girls SMP had the best shot imo but that didn't quite workout.
