Just my personal opinion, but I think the reason Shiva and Raavi's track is going on in an endless circle is the popularity the pair gained from the initial episodes. In every language, Shiva and Raavi's couple became popular, and that was because their characters were relatable and lovable.
Shiva, himself, was designed as a man who:
—Sacrificed his education for his family's well-being
—Married his enemy, no questions asked, because of the respect he had for his bhabi and the love he had for his family
—Carried for his wife, even if he had troubles expressing it
While Raavi was a girl who:
—Holds no grudges
—Only sees the positive in everyone, and knows how to forgive people easily
—Has an infectious childish nature who is able to melt even the hardest/strongest people
It's so much easier to connect with Raavi and Shiva's initial characters compared to Dev (a man who left a woman at the altar, and who did not even care for what happened to her afterwards) and Rishita's (a woman who openly insulted the two people who sacrificed their happiness for her own happiness) characters.
It didn't help that the writers nearly gave up on Dev's character. Whether it was due to Akshay's acting/disappearance due to personal commitments, or whether it was because they knew the audience did not like Dev, the CVs really should have just developed his character.
But, we've now reached a point where Shiva and Raavi should be together as a couple. But, instead, they keep oscillating back and forth like a pendulum. And, I think it's because of the CV's reluctance to experiment. Shiva and Raavi's nok-jhoks won them the initial TRP (especially since pre-leap TRPs weren't that high)... if ShiVi were happy, they might risk losing that sector of the TRP audience. As much, GauRa and DevTa get most of the experimental tracks/growth while ShiVi stay stagnant.
But, I wish the CVs understood that Shiva and Raavi could continue their nok-jhoks even though they are in love. There are so many problems that couples can encounter post-love confession, and it could've been refreshing to see them banter as they fall for each other more.
They could have shown Shiva and Raavi's college track, with both of them helping each other with late night studying. They could have Shiva and Raavi working together to expand the Pandya Store business and meet new people. They could have Raavi teaching Shiva how to cook.
I recently read a novel of a couple who confessed to each other pretty early in the novel, and the FL shamelessly teases the ML all the time, calling him nicknames, suggesting they should take their relationship to the next level, and just when she wonders if the ML loves her as much as she loves him, he does crazy things that sweep her off her feet. (Example: During the middle of a conference, when the FL drops her phone and goes under the table to pick it up, the ML keeps her under the table and kisses her, pleading her to not tease him anymore because his self-control isn't as strong as she thinks.)
Would've been nice to see some of that in ShiVi... 🤷♀️
