After M raped Aditya, he thought he was drunk and did something wrong with M. He was so humiliated and ashamed then. Imlie got him the proof that it was Malini who raped him. He immediately confronted M. Anu and M spun a web of lies that Anu drugged M too and made her belief it was their honeymoon. They revealed that M was pregnant with his child. He thought both he and M were the victims of the situation.

With a baby in question, situation was once again complicated for Adi; He confessed to imlie that i cant let go of my responsibilities towards the baby, you choose. It was imlie who decided that she, her didi, chintoo and Adi will stay together like one big happy family.

After a lot of M's machinations, situation culminated in M shooting herself. SK confessed that he shot M and M claimed that SK lied to save I.

Aditya asked I a question. He wanted to talk to his wife, understand what happened. But Imlie decided Aditya did not trust her. Burnt the mangalsutra and ended the relationship.

After that, Aditya was trying to reason with her, plead with her to give him a chance. But Imlie was done with him.

Again this is the difference between both characters; Even if he trusts someone, Adi doesn't shy away from asking questions. Har cheez ke liye proof laake baat karta hai. He expects the same of others.

Imlie thinks its disrespectful to the relationship if she asks any uncomfortable questions. She blindly believes. For her if there is trust, there is no room for questions. She will even reject any proof that's presented to her.

Adi back then was at the same point where Imlie is today. He said almost the same thing that I said to Aryan. Whatever you tell me I will believe you. That will be my truth😆

Great summary Jojo ji, but I’m afraid all this will probably fall on deaf ears. Those who are adamant on declaring Adi wrong based on hearsay will do it, who cares about the actual plot?😆

Fact is, since their first gun point forced wedding in Pagdandiya, Adi was always the one who wanted to reveal the truth and free himself and Imlie from the forced bond. Imlie for various reasons did not allow him. He still went ahead and told Malini first thing when he came back. She fainted and ended up at the hospital. What was he to do, tell her again and have her death on his conscience?😆

In spite of this, he went back to Pagdandiya to drop Imlie off and planned to come back and tell everyone the truth but fate had other plans for Adilie. Imlie got shot and Adi couldn’t just leave her to die and took her to hospital. After that, Imlie chose to stay in T house because for her this relationship was a gift from Sita Maiyya she could not refuse. She explicitly told Adi this was her choice in the hospital scene (for anyone who cares about the plot). Adi could not deny her her choice as he is not a man who imposes his choices on a woman.

And you aptly described what happened after that so there’s no need for me to repeat all that.😆

The reason their relationship fell apart was because of a stark difference in priorities. For Imlie, faith takes precedence over everything. Whereas Adi values transparency the most. They could no longer see eye to eye and thus fell apart. It was never an issue of broken trust because their trust in each other never wavered. Adi trusted her after M was shot just as she trusted him after he was raped. But in the battle of faith versus transparency, they both lost.

Perfect jojo. Finally I am hearing views in the forum who are echoing my thoughts. Lot of times I find Imlie too stubborn and was not understanding things from Adi’s perspective. She mostly behaved know it all and the makers wanted the same which is really pathetic. Now people will say that she is just 19. I would ask them has Imlie ever behaved like a 19 year old? She will go ahead and free advise to all mothers when she herself is still a child technically. She will go and give advise to estranged women for years on how to live happily when she has been married just few months. She will go and give advice to a sex worker on how to fight a battle when she hardly landed there few hours before. For Imlie faith is important and there is no place for questions. I beg to differ here. Nobody is above questions not even God or our parents. For me Imlie is very regressive in this aspect. Adi is way progressive than her. He knows he loves Imlie and trust her. But he was also keen, with his blind faith in Imlie he should not hurt Malini. I didn’t find anything wrong the day Adi questioned her about the shoot incident. I am not supporting Adi here. Adi did lot of other things wrong by not standing with Imlie and find out the truth and by not sending Malini after Imlie became uncomfortable and leaving Imlie on KC day. I also liked how Adi conducted himself in case of his physical needs. He knows though they were madly in love and married too, he never crossed his limits owing to her age.
