Hello! I'm new to the forum, but have been a happy reader of the intriguing reviews you all share here. Many thanks for that!
Sharing a few moments that picked my interest and please don't mind incase I'm repeating them.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the version of Imlie, Aryan's subconscious conjured up - a cheerful, content, and an I'm upto innocent mischief smiling Imlie, dressed in her usual style, presumably in the same yellow dress from their first meet?. If so, it was extra adorable that he thought back to their first angsty meet and the lost hand hold opportunity in either!
I liked that it wasn't an extra dolled up version, say 'cute' ddlj, or more 'Rathore style' launch party day. He thought of her as she is, capturing more of her fundamental characteristics than any hyped version of 'my girl'. The simplicity was in keeping with his no frills/ fuss assessment and attitude too.
Also, the bright to dark light play reminded me of her conversation with him about having a remote to his life! (~ their discussion by the bar at the launch/NY party). She goes on about how she would bring colour into his black and white life, and brighten it up or such?
Interestingly he then wanted a remote to shut her up, and spent earlier this day wanting her to chat! The ways he continuously negates himself when it comes to her likely needs space too:) But I digress!
Circling back, I felt his angst was not only about losing her and his hopes for them but also her potentially hurting . The way her smile turned into distress, and her eyes went from sparking to near sos as she went from light to dark too (as she got dragged away). His reactions were stellar theatre performance!
Similarly, she moved away from the lit area near the hospital bed (his presence) to the darker door (just being away) and her distress escalated along with her helplessness and near dissolution to a lost child status.
I don't want to rile you guys up with persona non-grata. But wouldn't a front page headline article self authored about xyz taking charge of "Rathore industries/ group" and meeting with a tragic accident ring a very very faint bell atleast when you have a new boss who is also the owner of "Rathore group". Wouldn't it warrant certain basic curiosity that journalists may likely possess in their talent arsenal? Well, perhaps that's much to ask from someone so senior that doesn't quite bother reading work emails when they waltz in late unaware of ceo changes.
Same goes for the missus that had such an adorable scrap book with all the articles ever penned and published by her precious. Considering information on ASR was such a hot commodity for her, perhaps closer attention could have clued her in way sooner! Well, I know logic is supposed to take a hike.. but why bring up the scrap book and have a fawn-over-it-and-pat-mine-own-back moment shoved at the unsuspecting viewer! (Mini "my eyes my eyes" Phoebe moment:)
The other thing I absolutely liked was the whole gamut of emotions that went with the revelation of their relationship shades/ tags: mentor/rock -- boss babu -- business man/lender -- partner -- friend -- (unspoken) her own person:) I haven't actively followed the rescue missions with her ex. But my sense is she's never had that chance to freely visit/ care for anyone - ex, or didi, or bio-dad or maaa at the hospital.
It was all the more endearing to see her have both the chance and the space to express herself freely, be it to grieve or berate or blackmail someone dear to her without needing any claim/ name for the relationship. It's just theirs with all it's shades. Needless to say she was phenomenal.
Ended up being much longer than I intended!
P.S: The "Imlie-Imlie--Aryan" was a whole conversation!
