Shagun is not the vamp, Ishita is not the goddess, uske kai layers h
Ruhi is the sweet kid but she doesn't instantly bond with ishita the way it was presented(jitna i know), novel m she's way younger in the beginning than she was in the show,
Also novel takes place in a period of years
Adi ka character is much more complex, him being the older kid,(he was 10 when the divorce happened nd 15 when the events of the novel end) uske upar kya asar hua was shown with great nuance nd perspectives
Ashok is not at all evil, hes very grey nd flawed
Ishita as I said is not the goddess is not like jaisi I assume show m thi specialy for Adi
She ofc tries to take make him comfortable, but being the older kid that he is, he tries to get Ruhi on his side nd closer to her real mum, when ishita comes to know of this, she's baffled (she doesn't say anything to him though) but it's not like she's forced to accept him as her son
Last m ishita gets ruhi(she's 8 in the last events of the novel) nd shagun gets adi
It's a very nice take on relationships nd divorce
