A while back someone on the mothership (who has probably since blocked me😆) explained it very nicely to me. Apparently Shiv was married to Sati whose family hated Shiv and then her father humiliated Shiv publicly so in anger Sati burned herself up. Then Shiv destroyed her entire family. Later she was reborn as Parvati and married him again. That was about the gist of it I think. See where they’re going?

Ok there's one thing I want to understand.. What's with this Shiv-Parvathi parallel? I don't know what their story was.. but the kind of stupidity they are showing between these two I'd think people would feel it a sacrilege and be offended but they're all so delighted with it!

So basically the story is Shiva and Sati falls in love. But Sati's father was a bigot who hated Shiva because Shiva was not "godly". Anyway Sati marries Shiva and her father casts her out of the house. When Daksha, the father holds a mahaygna and do not invite Shiva, Sati feels insulted and goes and jumps in the havankund and dies, in short.

Later she is reborn as Parvati and tries hard to make Shiva fall in love with her.

The constant references to Mahadev by Abhimanyu and probably the family strife is what they are seeing as the parallel. 🙄
