2. How loathsome do you have to be to mock a national icon like her who actually was a decent human by all accounts?

There was a FB post going around after Betty White died which said if you die at 99, and people think it was too early, it shows what kind of person you are.

Most of India thinks Lata Mangeshkar shouldn't have been taken from the world even at 92. Says enough about who she was.

As for the trolls and the haters, they have no life. They will not find happiness with the kind of hatred they harbor in their hearts.

Sadly some of these trolls are verified IDs of so called feminists, seculars, liberals and columnists calling Lata ji overrated and slandering her character.

Reminds me of the time when Congress demanded her Bharat Ratna be withdrawn simply because she praised Modi.

I was shocked to see so called feminists character assassinating Lata ji and making cheapest insinuations about her. How can a feminist slander character of another woman? Or sl*t shame her on the day of her death?

Rest were probably women with heavy voices who claimed Lata ruined it as people expect sweet, thin voices and singers like them could not make it due to standards set by Lata. Others mocked her saree or plaits and called persona a sham.

Some hyper nationalist Pakistanis were heaping hate on Lata ji for her raising funds for 1971 war and being close to family of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The real anger is of course her support for BJP, welcoming Ayodhya judgement and calling Savarkar a fatherly figure.

I was shocked to see people debate her caste also and fight over whether she was a real Brahmin or something else.

I never knew people would hate an artiste of her calibre merely for her caste, religion or political leanings or bash her patriotism.

Funny how she was called egoistic whereas men who are ambitious or demand their worth or are competitive are never bashed so much. Only a single, independent, talented woman rattles liberals and feminists alike.

What irked me most was people making presumptions about why she was single and childfree or whether she had affair with a Pakistani singer or used to harass male singers. Disgusting!

Alt Left is just as bad as Alt Right. Both have malefic agendas & no side has a clear ideology anymore. The Mask/Vaccine mandate is the hot debate at the moment. You would think the Liberals who claim to stand for equality & freedom would be the ones to push for freedom of choice but instead they want to orcastize the unvaccinated. Which is why I can't identify with either group because its all political now. The sides will do whatever suits their agenda instead of staying true to their core ideologies.

Wake up and look around. All these things have long been taken care of. People are all happy, healthy, rich, employed, eating 10 course meals a day, crime rate zero, GDP all time high. Only Mandir Masjid reh gaye hai which is what is being tackled now.
