For all its regressiveness, and mirroring the society KD is inevitably a beautiful story where the heart lies in the emotions of the characters. We should not see any character especially Virat and Sai with black and white glasses. Leena Ji (my respect for her only increased), tried to show how people with some 'core' characteristics behave in situations and these decisions which stem from their value system might go wrong badly. The only thing that does not change is the emotions that are deep rooted.
However, going against her script and inserting sruthi track is the biggest mistake of Ghum writers. Sai and Virat are not there yet to deal with these circumstances. So it looks so disconnected. They both cant talk about anything close to being physical, but had to deal with an ema!! No wonder the dialogues are so bad.
Yesterday's episode, Sai says 'rishta KIYA and bachcha paida kiya'. It cracked me up. The girl cant say he did sex with that woman.
This disconnect is because Hindi audience and ITV standards cant take the reality headon. regional channels especially bengali stories deal with human emotions head on. They dont hide or fear to show the reality! Virat's jealousy for example will always be made into crime by hindi(online audience). But thats how most men are wired. Especially when there is no physical relationship and insecurity due to age difference, his reaction to me appeared so real. Here they even removed the hurtful words he says to emon in KD. People fear to show the reality. I always liked KD (till confession), for its rawness. Their fights are treat to watch.
People wonder why Ghum succeeds despite the so called regressive elements, but it is bound to succeed...the story has depth and layers. Not like any stupid serial that comes and washes out within few months. Romantic scenes dont work in the long run! story works. That is why Ghum works. simple. People identify with virat, and sai , every character in CN. So unless you see Sai and Virat as someone who make decisions based on their upbrining, value system, core values and the situations they are in, it is hard to relate to them.
The problem with Ghum FD, is that they dont identify with characters also, they identify with the actors. I am appalled at how much hate Neil gets. That guy is so simple and soft in his interviews. He looked extremely gentlemanly, that I can imagine how he is suffering so much hate. I wanted to scream at people who complain he doesnt reply in Ayesha's posts. How will he reply when his every post is scrutinized. I m sure he doesnt post a reply to avoid filthy comments that follow and spoil her post. I have never seen him reply to anyother actor's posts except for his wife. Then Why this scrutiny? It is harrassment. This is after every time he proved he is professional again and again. After Ayesha said multiple times that he is like her mentor and guide. she used the words like 'respect' and 'love' for him. For that also, they say she is covering him up. Does it mean that Ayesha is lying? Comeon people, your comments how much ever faceless they could be, will hurt any person.
Sorry for the rant. I am just tired of seeing the posts on Neil, not on the story. Noone, literally no one sees Sai and Virat. They see only Ayesha and Neil. And who ever sees the characters are no more in the forum, and I am glad 😃
Here is my review for yesterday's episode which i think is good as always.
I did not expect this reaction from Virat but his frustration comes as the after effects of his confrontation with Sai.
I think the sai virat confrontation, has put a final nail on the coffin of their relationship . He realized his way of handling things could be wrong. He did say that today that whatever decisions he took costed Sai(his life and job). The full realization that it is all over, has turned him against its source ( Shruthi). also in previous episode Shruthi said he has filled his mind with what people (family) told about them. So yeah subconsciously he is fearing/seeing that how their relationship could be misunderstood. He till now thought if he is clear from his side, no one would question him. Now he is trying to see from others POV. And for a moment, might have thought Shruthi is using him!!! It is wrong but that’s how he is thinking. That’s why sruthis concern is taken by him as crossing the line. In the process he is forgetting the basic manners and Ethics. Upar se Pulkit called him names. They are seeing him lecherous which is now acting upon him and he is viewing from their POV. But, the best trait of Virat is he accepts his mistakes and he apologizes.
As afar as Shruthi is concerned, I think till now she is in limits. She might understand his outburst and later cooldown too! Thats why we should not see these people completely white or black. There is a range of emotions at play here. Sruthi opting to not leave him immediatly, doesn’t make her devoid of self respect. But falling for him too quickly shows her being devoid of it, and selfish. Because she will love him for the comfort and not because of who he is! She knows he loves someone else and married so at that point yes she compromises her selfrespect. Hope they will not butcher her here.
Virat also turned suicidal. But I think now he will prove himself. Till now he believed that his words are enough . But today when he understood people are questioning his character, he might finally take some control.
All in all sais studies are ruined. I cannot do my work if I m slightly upset. Here this is a big heart breakthis is ITV so she will be back to top. But can’t imagine a real life scenario 🥺
PS: So guys Virat is not a Saint and neither is Sai. They are two young and inexperienced people in love who are trying hard to make each other's lives easier at the cost of their own. They are doing wrong things one after the other and there will be some collateral damage. See them, hear them and feel them to understand their pain. Dont do moral policing. :)
Awesome post and perfect. I agree with everything you've mentioned. Both Virat and Sai are different entities and we have to see them as characters and not actors. The amount of hated Neil gets has gone overboard and I too am surprised how come he's kept his cool. I hope these people get some sense soon.
this is ITV so she will be back to top. But can’t imagine a real life scenario 🥺
