That’s what I like about him. He could’ve flown off the handle when he heard such ridiculous things being said but he used it as a learning opportunity.
It’s why I’m completely in awe and then baffled by this character - literally one of the few (and only one I’ve seen) logical characters on ITV. Like even in this instance with everything going on he took the time to be a proper leader. He has clout and money. He’s the CEO. He could speak to them and do whatever he wants. And he chose to guide them to be/do better.
We've seen the Angry Young Man trope A LOT in Indian serials, usually accompanied by money and clout as well. Shivaay Singh Oberoi from Ishqbaaz is just one of the more popular recent examples I can think of. The original ASR, Arnav Singh Raizada, from IPPKND, was really popular too. I don't think the trope has EVER been done as well as it has been by FK's Aryan Singh Rathore though. The AYM is usually supposed to be intelligent, great at business, etc. However, they always just seemed dumb, arrogant and usually was a hindrance more than a help to the female lead when she was in trouble or trying to save him.
Aryan though is actually smart, we get to see his thought process and his actions reflect that intelligence. He's not easily manipulated, he doesn't have blinders on and he genuinely is not a bad person even if he is angry. The AYM trope has been used to justify abuse towards female leads so often in the past (forced marriage by both ASR and SSO as well as other actions such as financial ruin, physical abuse and disgusting/classist language towards them and their character). It is so refreshing to see Aryan's anger at and conflict with Imlie show passion and difference of opinion without the lens of abuse. He has never put her in danger as SSO and ASR have done to their female leads, the most he has done is hold her roughly which was not great but in my mind was understandable because he let her go as soon as he realized she was uncomfortable, he didn't injure her and their relationship is shown as a bit laraku with Imlie getting physical with him as well. I really hope that they continue to develop his character while maintaining the positives we see already.
