Exactly. I don’t get this obsession with having your own child at any cost. A lot of people who can’t conceive go through so much pain and suffering to have their child. They go for expensive treatments, endless agony and suffering for this wish to be fulfilled. Sometimes, they risk going into debt (like shown in PS) or risk their fragile health to deliver.
If someone is overflowing with a mother’s or father’s love, why not give that love to a child who is already in this world and craving for it? Ultimately, it’s about the bond, instead of the blood. There are families torn apart because their bonds weren’t strong, and there are others who would die for each other, because their bonds were nurtured and strengthened with love.
I understand the evolutionary craving to spread your genes, but the whole point of being human is to be able to override our baser instincts. Animals don’t have that ability.
I wish the makers showed this angle instead of justifying the crazy lengths Dhara and her family is going to have this child 😣
I doubt the writers are capable of delivering the kind of emotional depth and sensitivity this particular scenario requires.
From Bhabhi's dialogues and behaviour, to me, it seems that she wants to have a baby to simply prove to the world that she can. She does not seem to have any particular affection for the baby as much as she has for the thought of finally being able to claim that she bore an heir for the Pandya Parivaar.
Even during the pregnancy termination track, they showed her emotional responses for exactly 2-3 day in Pandya Universe and moved on to the next kaand (loan & IVF). The minute she was given hope she could be pregnant she was happy and forgot all about her previous pregnancy. If they had actually paced this track better and written more powerful dialogues (rather than the 'khooni'), I'm sure it would have appealed to the audience more. In fact, I think the hospital scenes, with all the family members, were appreciated because everyone was trying to save Bhabhi & the baby to the end, everyone had appropriate reactions & dialogues (Suman's were questionable but suited her mentality & character), and you genuinely felt bad for the decision they had to make.
P.s. I could it post it only now due to new member post restrictions.
