I feel like he had his own plan, but then Eurus took over and changed it up. He didn't care just for Holmes. He wanted London to suffer.
He was a far better villain to me then Eurus could ever hope to be.
Like I really wish they showed them both as equals, collaborating for a grand evil masterplan. Maybe one tries to one-up the other but the other one is ready for it beforehand. Could've been so interesting to see their dynamics. Esp with both of them having their own obsession with Sherlock.
Instead they made it all about Eurus. Like Moriarty was just a pawn in her hands, carrying out her plans for her. I hated that so much! I mean, he's Moriarty. He's not just some normal chaos-loving human, he's Sherlock's evil counterpart. But they wanted Eurus to be that counterpart, so they downgraded him instead. Cheap writing imo.
In my mind, Moriarty LET Eurus think that she was manipulating him. He played along with her plans bcz he wanted to see the damage she wreaked on Sherlock. And now that she's out of the picture again, he's secretly planning his comeback 😈
