oh i dint read it in context but now this Jugli word makes even more sense to me for them and their dynamics overall..

unlike how Adi used to call her Jhalli (which wasn't a good word per me.. )

Jungli is better and suitable..

I never associated it as a bad thing. At first he might’ve meant it as an insult but the more he said it the less it meant that. Even just the tone of his voice when he says it.

I think for me it was so similar to RK’s Biwi in Madhubala. He used it to mock her because they never had a full wedding with all the rituals, so she wasn’t really his biwi. But you heard the tone with which he used that word change over the course of their relationship. Even in that in-between time where their feelings weren’t love yet.

Jungli to me was and is like that. Anybody else calling her Jungli would not be okay. It’s a word that’s reserved just for him to use for her because it’s something between them that changes the whole meaning of the word for both of them.

I love that you did some digging into it though, cause like I said, I do love your interpretation of this word to give it more meaning.

but after Sundari pointed out.. he called her Jungli only after knowing where she is from.. like Jungle ka sher so from the start it wasnt an insult but a compliment about her zeal for life and her spunk of wilderness.. and its even more beautiful now.
