im glad you brought this up. ive been re-watching the old episodes when anuj first joined and here are some facts that now are clues...

44 years old

he loved anupama for a year before he went to tell her (if im not mistaken, he approached her after school ended...so i guess he was 21? but i thought anupamaa said that she didnt finish college in one of the earlier episodes)?

parents died 20 years ago (so he was 24)

he with his parents lived in the USA after living india. parents presumably died in the USA.

mother died first

he was his parents favorite

his father died after (which is when he had to step up and take responsibility)

he says that he was lucky that a good man recognized him earlier in his career and gave him a chance

so based on that, how old is mukku? 30s? early 40s? that seems like a big age gap between if its 30s...

and if she is so unstable or need so much protecting, why arent they in touch more? that parts makes no sense to me.

also, is it me or does it seem like they are re-writing anuj's history...i feel like in the more recent episodes someone mentioned that his parents both died in an accident?

Yes i also felt their flashback was bit flaky.. I couldn't connect with his past seriously.. kal precap dekh ke bohat expectation tha.. ab sab peeka padgaya

I couldn't connect to the trauma story and I didn't see how that tilted Mukku's life on its axis to the point where GK said Mukku guilt trips Anuj. The memory/moment felt a bit disjointed and incoherent, too. I assumed their sibling issue was due to their parents' passing ...

but I dunno, maybe I'm jaded and was expecting something different. I get that he felt guilty about suggesting the drag race. maybe they could've said he was gifted a new bike and was adamant to take it for a ride, otherwise why would he decide to spend his bday differently? The "I dunno why I wanted to go out that day" felt weak.

Sorry writers - I wanted to feel emo today but I was enamored by MaAn and then confused about the trauma. 😭
