There are songs from pre 2000s decades that are still played by watchmen, truck drivers, taxi drivers. Gori hain kalayian, Pardesi, Jumma Chumma de de, Meri Mehbooba, Chhaiya Chhaiya, are all popular at dhabas and with truckers, cabbies.
Though most popular songs are still from 60s, 70s and early 80s. Lata, Asha, Rafi, Kishore are still heard at bars, dhabas, roadside tea stalls.
Original Rafi is still popular. Not duplicate.
Step out and travel more around Indian states to know how older film music and regional music is way more popular than current Bollywood music among taxi drivers, dhabas, tea stalls, truck drivers, bus drivers etc. They like more rooted stuff and not wannabe western music.
so the truck drivers , dhabas and bus drivers makes up entire population lol get a life dude đ¤Ł

He's from Pakistan đ
And Arsy tell me one more thing.
If 90s songs were so overrated why were they being used in BOL Network's Game Show Aisey Chalega, till the time Indian songs were allowed? All QSQT songs, ankhiyon se goli maare, main toh raste se jaa raha tha...all were sung. If they aren't popular at all I would expect them not to be heard only right?

So the country's 3/4th popular should go to hell because they don't listen to Sonu đ
Actually old songs had relatable lyrics and voices, typical Indian music.
And songs from 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s often mirrored realities of everyday life such as unemployment, price rise, poverty, which people found meaningful, relatable.
Some old songs are still recreated and reused in ads. Mehangaai maar gayi is one such song. Papa kehte hain was reused in ads and even in later films like AAA.
Oye oye was tweaked to use it in an anti itch cream ad.
Not too long ago a hair oil ad with Asin had used Ae phoolon ki rani song as jingle.
As films, songs, lyrics became more disconnected from masses or mixed with other languages, people turned to older music or regional music more.
Today regional films and music are doing much better in states, towns and villages than Bollywood stuff which has become more urban/NRI oriented and westernised for masses who are unable to connect emotionally with it.

He is ugly and pretty average from all standards. Doesnât look like a Bollywood hero material at all. Iâm pretty sure he will flop within 2...
I believe so! Shahid is superhot and has a great diverse selection of roles. And a great dancer, I wish I could be married to him. I am jealous...
I never liked Ayushmann Khurrana from the beginning. It is because of John Abraham he had a career from that fluke movie Vicky Donor in 2012....
Noone seems to be excited about them coming again for one final movie. After Dilwale, their pairing doesn't seem commercially viable anymore....
