In a relationship, it is always one who will love more than the other circumstantially. But so agree seera- AKT loves her, just plain old simple love. His love is not fairytale like, his love ain't poetic kinds. It is just love. It was this love that made AKT go to PD3, it was this love that made him want to fight against all odds, knowing the havoc it will create. It was this love that has always made sure Imlie has the choice. Yes his love was selfish but it had to be for both of them! Today his love gave up that selfishness and the union is no more! Like you said, he will always love her- no doubt!
Well said, Whatever!
I will only add that the two may have got married forcefully, but the way they fell for each other differed significantly, kind of in turn setting the tone for who the two characters are in essence to begin with. Imlie looks at Adi first as a husband and mentor, then as a lover and friend. She's a very young girl who unfortunately never had the chance to choose her partner, but luckily Adi was the kind of man she connected with from the moment they met, so it was a gradual, fall-in-love-with-ease, he's-it-for-me kind of slide for her. She never had to grapple to accept or understand her feelings for him, which if you look at it is a blessing on its own.
Adi, on the other hand, loves Imlie primarily for all that she is. That she is his wife has always mattered less to him than what she represents to him as a person. This is ironic considering he's the one who keeps announcing to the world she's his wife every chance he gets. 🤣 When he makes those declarations, I have always felt that it was more to express his pride, and to some extent his disbelief and relief, that Imlie has forgiven him for his mistakes and loves him despite them. This pahaad has always been humble when it comes to Imlie. 😳
The soul connect between adilie is such that Adi would have fallen for her even if she hadn't been his wife, or his first wife. I know some might disagree with me, but I feel that Malini or no Malini, married or not married, if his paths had crossed with Imlie's at any point in their life owing to the fate that ties them together, he would have realized that they were meant to be together. It's possible I am being too poetic/romantic (which I am not by nature really 😆), but I'd like to believe this is true based on their journey so far. 😳 There was a time Adi could not have been more bitter at having been shredded of his dignity and tied to Imlie this way - today, that same man is counting his lucky stars that they went through this trauma. Not because it gives him rights over her, but because Imlie, with her belief systems, would never have found the strength to fight for him the way she's done if he weren't her husband. 😊 Atal yeh sirf Imlie ke maamle mein hai - not anybody else.
Imlie's faith in their marriage is strong, but Adi's faith in Imlie and their bond itself is stronger. Adi's faith is the reason they will patch up down the line. Hopefully Imlie will also learn what it means to be loved hard by someone who is so flawed but so real.
