For a change I found this genuine...Genuine in a way she talked about not going back to the family to celebrate festivals.. Its heart wrenching to accept that change.

I just felt that this article coming after a month of wedding would have made more sense than coming within a week...... Wat can u feel in two days baba????

U need time to sync in the change and everything and to feel anything differently..... Two days mein kuch nahi badalta!!!

Then again, that is my kind of opinion!!!

From my personal experience. Bidaai can be very emotional for parents. I never saw my dad cry. Never imagined he would. But he broke down for a moment. I was happy as always because I knew I would be going to them as always.

But Yes, the entire ritual of saying that the girl is done with her maternal home, breaks you even if you know that you are not breaking anything :D

I have been living on my own for years, so my parents cried the first time I left home, no matter how many times i visit india or parents visit me, when they leave or I leave, I have that wierd feeling in my chest (but no tears come out 😆) that doesn't go away for 2 days that I can't describe . Its been years that I have celebrated festivals with family 😭

But yes, like someone mentioned, all the festivals for year 1 of marriage are celebrated at girl's side, so both bride and groom visit girl's parents for every big and small festival their first year of marriage. But my sister and jiju visit my parents every festival evening after they celebrate at their own home. So they get to celebrate it twice. ❤️

that's the point na .. it's the feeling that someone should let us go to our own family or to meet our own parents is what bothers the most when we are getting married ..

PS: I didn't read the article.just the discussion pushed me to reply.... Memories from my marriage😆

I haven't read the article. Her concerns are valid but I am just laughing at the influx of articles on her daily.
