Where is self respect?

Why it is always a girl's obligation to impress her in laws especially mother in law, who don't even give two hoots? Since the day Meet H got married, she has to change her ways of living in order to stay in Alhawat house. The only thing she is trying since her marriage is get into good books of Babita and other family members. Is it like by making her daughter in law they did some sort of favour on Meet H? Is getting acceptance from in laws, her only purpose of life ?And since Alhawat family is richer than Hooda family, they have an upper hand. Babita takes liberty in insulting and hitting the poor girl, even when it's not her fault and gets scot free because she is elder , misunderstood her blah blah. Respecting elders doesn't mean losing self respect and becoming doormat. Not taking stand when the opposite party is guilty makes you equally guilty.

I was also thinking the same, marriage is between two persons so why everything is expected from a girl only,what meetA has done to impress meetA's fam, why a girl has to change herself in order to impress her husband and inlaws, why she has to make sacrifices, bear insult

Well MEET H needs to take stand for herself and her self respect, just because of some promise she doesn't have to bear so much

And in itv I don't know why everyone just hate fl make her suffer to the point of break down, this is so frustrating

Both of them don't need to impress their in laws. Staying decent and cordial towards should be sufficient. But here Meet H is trying to become role model bahu by changing her routine, her activities, her attire almost everything. Tomorrow if her in laws ask her to grow her hair, she will do that also lol. ITV audience also seem to enjoy the FL doing all adarsh bahu duties religiously and crave for her acceptance by every Tom dick and harry

Class diff is a main reason Babita aunty talks like that with MH.. Hopefully she will reply her one day without anyone's support..

Moreover MH has been brought up in such a way that she has taken it upon herself to suffer all abuses, think about everyone except herself and keep on trying while the other one is not responding.. The reasoning she gave in hospital why she came back was so heartbreaking.. 😭😭 Hopefully the girl learns to believe one day that it's not her mistake, it was never hers to bear..

What can be done about itv trp audience they do not like progressive show where not only a wife but also a husband touches his wife's feet when he feel like he had learned something from her like a student same goes with wife, not because they are husband and wife but guru and shishya and equal for each other, where a husband priorities her wife comfort and consent, where he wants her to fly high in life and career e.t.c

They like extramarital affairs, a crying,suffering,torchured female lead, a deceiving husband, bhabhi devar and jeeja saali nonsense and what not, these bring so much trp and progressive shows are neglected and ended abruptly

Yeah the class difference, that is why these rich people bring DIL from poor families, so that they can make them dance to their tunes. In BK, the MIL mellowed down with each passing episode but here it seems there is no character growth in Babita, her bitterness is increasing with each passing day. One more thing, in every serial more focus is given to impress the snooty and rude characters , as pataofying them is going to fetch punya lol

Is case me BK better tha, Kyunki usme sirf ML ka character rude tha starting me lekin fir bhi FL ne Kabhi use impress ya change karne ki try nahi ki

Agree, Meetu is trying very hard and her efforts are not always appreciated by the Ahlawats, instead she becomes party to blame every time from Babitaji and mostly others are just standing there looking at them or keeping quiet too, which is not helpful. The difference in economy always comes to fore when she taunts Meet, as if her own husband did not start off from a humble background and grow. The physical violence is highly condemned. Also like @Nikki @Neohy @Jiggy and I mentioned on EDT, Meet A has still not apologised for his remarks before or after marriage to Anubha, and cleared it out from his end.

Haina? Har cheez ki limit hoti hai and they keep testing it time after time with her having to listen on in the guise of the bahurani. When will we escape that stereotype?
