Because what I asked him was this:

Saagar (due to one scene of Dimple supposedly taking off clothes to swim and that Jaane do song)

Anjaam (due to intimate scene between Madhuri and Deepak Tijori, Chane ke khet mein lyrics and violence)

Beta (due to intimate scenes and songs with Madhuri and Anil)

Rangeela (due to Urmila's clothes in Tanha tanha and Haye Rama songs)

Jaanbaaz (its scenes and innuendo type dialogues are...)

3 Idiots (due to balatkar speech)

I got scolded for watching Khalnayak and Mohra too especially during Choli and Tip tip songs. We would also leave the room when Kaate nahi kat te song played in Mr India or switched off TV or changed the channel.

After all these experiences I never watched films with intimate scenes or innuendo or explicit scenes. I noticed family was uncomfortable watching Damini, Prem Granth also because of rape scenes in those films.

All Hollywood films and shows were uncomfortable to watch with family. We got grandpa yelling at what were we watching even if Ted and Joan Lawson kissed in Small Wonder.

I mostly like watching films and shows by myself. So I can watch or skip whatever I want without any comments or looks from others and without feeling uncomfortable myself.

My grandfather was even more strict and did not like us watching Sholay because he thought Gabbar and Veeru are using 'gaalis' and it will spoil kids and teach them bad language. In a way even a harmless film like Sholay caused a mini ruckus with lectures on why we should watch less of TV and films and focus only on studies or else 'kids would get spoilt'.

So now you avoid watching these films w the fam ? Or just skip the scenes ?

I began to skip scenes but now I watch by myself or watch almost all of these films with family except Jaanbaaz, which I feel is indeed full of vulgar innuendo and those love making scenes between Anil and Dimple are still not something I would like to watch with family.

Of late I have noticed family reacts less to intimate scenes but dislikes graphic violence and abusive language more.

I have no issues with violence. But my family does not like it. They have become okay or used to kissing or romantic scenes though because films made later had even more skin show, innuendo than films of 80s and 90s. In contrast to songs made later, Kaate nahi kat te or Dhak dhak seem less scandalous to watch now.

Reminded me of the Democratic party presidential candidate John Hickenlooper who watched p*rnographic movie with his Mom, at a theater

p*rn-movie-deep-throat-mother_n_5c935e7ae4b0d952b223b107

It was the popular 1972 p*rn movie "Deep Throat"

He says he knew that the movie was bad but didn't expect it to be that bad

And that's not even the worst part... Even after finding out , neither mother nor son left the movie hall, they watched the whole movie bcz - get this - they already paid for it

Even more bizzare - WHY would he announce this to the whole world, 50 yrs later, while attempting to run for President

Baghban.😆

But once when I was watching some movie ( Corporate? I don’t really remember) with my dad, in one scene Payal Rohatgi’s character goes into a room with some fat politician(?) guy and shuts the door.

I turned to my dad and asked, “Ye uske saath andar kyun gayi? Aur darwaza band kyun kiya?”. And my dad was like “Tujhe pata hai kyun kiya.”

I was like..
