I Want To Breathe – A Sai Joshi TS
Chapter 2(A)
“How dare they! HOW DARE THEY!”
These 3 words played on loop in the mind of Dr. Kunal as he practically stormed towards the hall of the Chavan Nivas. He walked straight to the head of the family and met her gaze, not dropping or lowering his own gaze even for a second.
“Ayee doctor! What we are having right now is an important family discussion. As far as I remember, you didn’t have any therapy session with Sai today. So better get out of the house without creating any ruckus or else…..”
“Or else,” Kunal cut her off by his question and the piercing voice of Bhavani Kaku was replaced by his boyish and flamboyant voice. After not getting any response except the deadly glares, he continued, “And what did you say ma’am? That you are having an ‘important family discussion’, didn’t you? Is this a matter of even minute significance? All your family does is make a mountain out of the mole when the matters are trivial and trivialize the matters which actually need to be discussed.” With that he broke out into wild laughter which was devoid of any humour and continued, his voice turning darker with every syllable he spoke, “I swear to God on the fact that this family, by far, is the most insane family I have ever come across.”
“Not a word anymore, Mahajan!” Kaku screamed at the top of her lungs to an extent that she was soon breathless.
But all this was just a useless attempt to penetrate Kunal into silence. “Maybe you all don’t know that when Sai is concerned, I am that powerful force which is unstoppable. So stop with the-‘you are an outsider’ non-sense of yours because this is not going to have any damn effect on me.” He stopped talking, took a breath and now spoke to Kaku without stopping even for a second.
“You know I just don’t believe that you are a woman. MRS. BHAVANI NAGESH CHAVAN, you despite being a woman, have the audacity to tell a sheer 19 year old girl to become a mother just because you want to exercise your control over the household. You have the audacity to tell a talented student like her to leave her education, her aspirations and career dreams to become a mother at an age when she is just supposed to enjoy her life. Remember one thing well, she is still Sai Joshi. A girl who has dreams to fulfill, a girl who has an independent future to plan, a girl who never took and will take stupid orders lying down, a girl who is a dreamer, a conqueror and beyond. She is not a baby producing machine. She is not an object which you will use whenever you desire to. She is not an aimless girl who you think can be chained down by getting her on bed with her so-called husband and force her to become an underage mother. SHE IS SAI KAMAL JOSHI, ONLY AND ONLY HER AABA’S GIRL. SHE ALWAYS WAS, SHE ALWAYS WILL!” As Kunal ended, his voice sounded 10 times louder and angrier than what he had begun with. And this was just the beginning!
As Kaku recovered from the shock of seeing the man in front of her burn in sheer rage, the retort she had planned to shoot died down in her throat and she came up with something rather stupid.
“People from villages are definitely uncultured and their bad upbringing reflects in their speech. You and this wild best friend of yours are the same- rude, immature, uncultured and obnoxious.”
Kunal once again broke into peels of laughter and spoke the unacknowledged truth which needed to be spilled out. “Please, let’s not speak about upbringing at least because every sane individual would agree that if I point out the brilliant upbringing you elder Chavans have done, the only think you would want to do is bury your faces in the ground out of mortification.” He turned to Samrat and Mohit and continued, “Mohit is a good man indeed, and yet he requires a lot of growing up to do. He learnt to be righteous only after Sai encouraged and supported him against all odds. Now that’s what I call upbringing. Sai, despite making mistakes has always had her moral compass in the right direction. Kamal Uncle, despite being a single father has brought her up incredibly well and that reflects not in her speech but in her actions. The very fact that Mohit developed a personality of his own only due to Sai speaks volumes about how good his parents have been at raising him! An example of great upbringing, of course! About Samrat Sir, I really wouldn’t comment on his upbringing because even though he has his own share of grave mistakes, they aren’t the results of his parents’ upbringing. They are purely his own mistakes and also, he is a Salunkhe. Fortunately, not being a Chavan has helped him grow up in a healthy environment, at least for a few years.”
On hearing what Kunal had to say, Mohit met his eyes with moist eyes. Samrat too met his eyes and slowly nodded and Kunal too nodded in return with a small smile playing on his lips and then turned towards Virat.
As soon as he looked at that man who was standing with closed eyes, he felt compelled to punch him across his face but he controlled himself. They were talking about upbringing and he would definitely not let anyone question his mother’s upbringing. His mother had taught him that if absolutely necessary, you can kill with words but not with wounds. So clenching and unclenching his fists simultaneously, he spoke with a shaky voice, “And then we have ACP Virat Chavan who is apparently this family’s pride. This respected police officer is the man who has abused, manhandled and tortured his teen wife and no one called him out strongly. What a brilliant example of upbringing it is!” Saying that, he abruptly decided to not speak a word more about the ACP and without even noticing his expressions, he turned to Bhavani Kaku once again.
“So hope you don’t want to hear essays on upbringing now as it is pretty clear that Sai and I, at least Sai, has a better upbringing than all the Chavan children combined. And yes, I have observed that you people are really proud of the fact that your family is one of the most influential families of Nagpur. But aren’t you all are too proud of your richness and your non-existent class. Like, you are definitely not the only rich family this city has seen.”
“Hey who are even calling classless. Our family is one of the most respected families Nagpur has ever witnessed and you are daring to challenge our position and power,” Kaku replied when she felt insulted at his words but he didn’t seem to care a bit.
“Ma’am, just speak less and hear more because you don’t seem to utter a word which makes sense. So a quick question- Do you know Mr. Sachin Mahajan?”
He saw the wheels of the woman’s brain turning and very soon, her face was adorned with a know-it-all expression.
“So you know who the millionaire man is. That’s nice and let me make it even nicer. I am his son.”
 -------------------
A wicked smile found its way to Kunal’s face as Kaku’s face screamed absolute shock. Her mouth opened and closed like a goldfish’s did. With a chuckle Kunal continued, “I am sure you have now realized that I am 5 times richer than you are. To be honest, I am not in good terms with my father and I don’t like to be acknowledged by his name, get the power he has and take favours from him. But for the sake of my Sai, I will do that too. I will ask my father for help and being his only son, he will be more than happy to help me out. On a lighter note-
Mere paas itna paisa hai ki main aap hi ka business kharid ke aap hi ko woh business dhanteras pe gift kar sakta hoon.
(Translation-I have so much money that I can buy your business and then gift it to you on Dhanteras.)
Then with a complete change of expressions, he took a step forward towards Bhavani and whispered in an absolutely dangerous voice, “If my father takes my side, then even with the ACP son of yours, YOU.WILL.BE.DESTROYED.”He laid deliberate emphasis on the last words, further petrifying almost everyone present.
That was it, Kaku couldn’t speak a word further. But even before the silence could last for some time, Patralekha opened her mouth, completely ignorant of the fact that this would become one of the biggest mistakes of her life.
“My Sai, huh! What is this kind of friendship you two share? Sai spending almost her entire time with you wasn’t enough that now you enter the house whenever you want to and start taunting the family members. Sometimes, I just wonder how pure and legitimate your relationship truly is and………”
“SHUT UP, PATRALEKHA!” Kunal growled his voice rising 20 decibels higher than usual.

Hello guys, so I am back with the first part of the confrontation. Yes, only the first part🤣 I have so much to write that I had to unwillingly divide it into 3 parts. I absolutely love this part and I really hope y'all do to.😳
As I know that every GHKKPMian craves for Didi's beizzati more than they crave for Sairat, I will make sure Kunal does the honours. Not much to be honest but definitely satisfying enough. So yeah, see you in the next part❤️
