Yet another show sinks, chillax and smile :-)

I am new here and stumbled across this show only last week. Sadly due to low trp show is being cancelled and of course the fans are distraught. Been there seen it all

To all the heart broken fans here please remember the below points before getting attached to a show

1. Indian soaps suck at showing love based stories. They can only show saas bahu ott drama and kitchen politics. They can only show manhandling, push, pull, trip, fall, catch in the name of romance coz prime time matlab sanskari stuff 🤔. So you will never get to see beautiful romance between leads. The lead pair won't consummate their wedding even after decades Believe me no normal couple who like each other like RagVI will abstain from sex. It's just not realistic. Funny how in Indian soaps sex is evil and the pure leads can never ever have sex. Even legally wedded couple 😆

2. Indian prime time TV viewers are women especially housewives. They like to watch only saas bahu ott drama and kitchen politics. Youngsters and working couple hardly watch prime time tv. They prefer Netflix, Amazon, IPL, news etc. So all Indian soaps are geared towards this target audience. Any hatke kinda show will bite the dust.

3. The above mentioned target audience don't like modern, independent woman who has self respect. Reason why all the FLs are demure in traditional attire while the negative character will wear modern eg. Even this show propogates the same stereotype via Amrutha and Esha. So the FL will always sacrifice.

4. The over emphasis on virginity. Note how they showed that though Pallavi is a widow, she is still virgin. They will never show an FL who is not virgin except few shows where the FL already had kids. Weird that even Doordarshan of the 80s and 90s showed very progressive stories while Indian soaps even in 2021 is still stuck in the dark ages

5. The leads especially the male lead will invariably be butchered. I have seen the ML of a thriller show butchered into a dhokla momma's boy So Raghav being shown as an insensitive douche bag is not surprising. I am yet to come across a single attractive decent male lead on Indian telly who is normal without being an asshole, borderline psychopath.

You want a story about a strong, independent woman or a beautiful love story Indian soaps is not the place for it. You can get those only in movies, webseries. Ditch the tv remote, switch to OTT. Life ban jeyega jingalala 😃

I agree with you but why should they not change ITV…as you say if DD can bring it year back then why not ITV…it’s not the viewers, it’s makers…it’s them who keep driving this regressive thought that no matter what a Patni will always remain Pativratha even if the Pati is not Patnivrath…

This is the land of Sati Kali Sita Anusuya Mandodari Draupadhi Radha, but no…ITV has to turn everyone to Gandhari…

And yeah Pallavi and Esha, inspite of being married are virgins but Raghav the player has to get both the women…one for pleasure and other for loyalty, why blame the viewers then…

DD's shows were mostly timebound with limited episodes. DD had very touching love stories like Kashish, Farmaan, Kshitij ye nahi. DD never used to drag these shows. They used to air once a week & used to ve 14 - 24 episodes max. So quality of the story & acting was good. Ppl did not sit before TV the whole day. Max TV viewing time was 1-2 hrs. Prime time was 8 - 9:30 PM aft which ppl w'd sleep 😆 Even my mom was a housewife but she hardly watched TV in the 90s & early 2000s. But now we ve 100+ channels spewing shit 24*7. So content & quality takes a hit. The same story of Raghav & Pallavi if they had showed it in just 50 to max 100 episodes the story would ve been really good. I am really not sure y the hell Indian channels & producers insist on having shows that run for yrs. 100 episodes & 5 mths is more than enuf to bring us a good qlty, decent show. This show had great potential. The issues faced by single working women, the struggle in running business, typical patriarchy all could ve been addressed in a sensitive & engaging manner. I liked some of Pallavi's ideas like the home photo shoot, online sales, pouch for jewellery. Also unlike other shows both the MILs are shown to be so loving & supportive of the DIL. Even Raghav was not the stereotypical AYM like Maan/ASR etc. He cries openly. Laughs, smiles, flirts. Quick to accept his mistakes & apologize. ASR was an asshole till the end. Also though family is important there ve been instances when Pallavi has blasted her family & supported Raghav. Similarly though Raghav loves his mom & sis he openly expressed his love for his wife bef his family. His family was never jealous. So this show had potential but sadly in the name of TRP they bali chadaofied the plot & the characterization of Raghav 👎🏼

Btw I find it hard to believe that Raghav had sex with Esha. He was so sloshed & literally unconscious. Don't want to seem crude or vulgar but practically speaking I dont think men can perform in such a condition. I know that women ve been drugged during dates/parties & ve been raped. But physiologically i think its tuf for a man to indulge in sex in such a physical state. May be make out but he was almost passed out on the bed. Again dont want to go into details but I dont think its physically possible for him to actually ve done the act.

This of course is not an excuse for his behavior. He is definitely in the wrong & hence feeling guilty.

Well the makers are...what to say right...saare logic ko kachre mai phek ke aate hai ye log.

I think they wanted this to be shown in Mandaar's track with Mandaar drugging Pallavi but I guess because of the fans they didn't..... so now they experimented it in Esha's track.

Agar show band ho raha tha then why show this nonsense yaar.....Ved toh bichara abhi bhi underground....show khatam ho jayega voh tab bhi underground hi rahega.

Feeling Guilt isn’t enough…fixing the consequences of his actions is what he should have done immediately but unfortunately he has done nothing to the effect…in fact he is messing it further in every way possible with each passing day…

Whether he got intimate with Esha or not he is GUILTY of lots of other thing that he engaged in that night before he hit the bed and with his intent, decisions and actions he as taken after that night…

Earlier having a television was a luxury. Only well-off people had TVs at home. Hence, the odds of having mature and open audience was high too. So the shows that time were created for mature audience. But now, almost every house has a TV. A huge chunk of current audience would not accept bold concepts.

With respect MHRW, Pallavi was shown being widowed on her first night was not to show her as a virgin, but to develop her bond with D's. If you imagine that Pallavi was married for 3-4 months before being widowed then her bond with D's loses impact. Esha virgin hai, yeh kab hua? Only villains wearing modern clothes is a huge stereotype in ITV. However, in this respect too, MHRW has kept constant. Mansi and Kirti didn't change her style when they went from positive to negative, nor did Amruta change when she went from negative to positive.

Rest I agree with you. Specially the romance part. Here we were at least lucky ki thode bahot scenes mile that were a bit close to reality. Warna toh ITV ka rule hai, men would always be asking for it and women would always be denying it.

Not sure when Star informed PH that they r pulling the plug. So the PH might ve initially thought they can drag the show for 20+ episodes with this stupid Esha drama. But post ultimatum by Star guess they had no option so simply going with this bakwas. If they had shown Pallavi as the victim I would ve really appreciated the PH for taking up such a sensitive topic of date rape. Would ve loved 2 watch Pallavi chuck Bandhar in jail & Raghav supporting Pallavi. But then again it comes round to the same thing. The FL has to be a virgin 🥱Hence they must ve flipped the plot 😵
