And opt out is by default people are in this programme and if they are concerned about their privacy or something they can choose not to be in this programme.

B - I think this is the reason they said they will temporarily stop BARC na so that within the suspension month they can tweak STBs as much as possible.

Bro evn if it replaces barc meters but it will not provide very detailed data like how barc meter provides

Barc meters ek particular selection like rich ppl, tier 1,2,3 ke log, income ke basis pe bithaye hai but chip har ek ghar me hogi so yeh advertisers ke liye mushkil hoga ki koun unka target audience hai nd woh kitna dekh rahe hai

And barc data suspend hoga but sirf public ke liye like how news channels ka data suspended but internally unko milta hai viewership so in same way me Hindi GECs ka bhi hoga bus hame nhi milega

Plus do uknw har broadcasters ne alag alag measurement body me bhi invest kiya hai jo chhote size ke hai udhar se bhi unko data milta hai

Oh so what about those android TV boxes, can they do this data collection or not?

Plus its not easy task ki 1-2 month me tum poore bharat ke set top boxes me chip dalo.... Current set top box me chips daal bhi sakte unko clearly replace karna padega new set top boxes se nd har koi itna rich nhi ki jo 1-2 month me hi poore india me new set top boxes laaye

Ab tumhara pov aur inka pov agar same results deta toh tumhe samaj mein aajata that what they wanna say. I mean unhone zaroor sochke hi STBs se universal data collection decision liya hai na its not like they just took a decision in haste. Humme dekhna hoga how it will happen. Now baat trp meters ki nahi hai ab humare STBs mein bhi RPD implement kiya jaayega so we need to observe how they will do it.
