Nai gayu staying in that room also wasn't something that was out of character. He did a mistake by blindly trusting Esha. He was plain stupid but after a lot of thinking I've come to a conclusion ki he was in character.

I was thinking about this as well. Caretakers resorts mein nehi hote. Receiptionists hote hain.
