I did not get any such vibe from IG live with Ahmed. So I was thinking maybe it was my illusion and the show is safe given that 6 and 6:30 pm are on the same trp numbers. I too think Sickand finalized the ending date this week and maybe they finally decided to let the news out yesterday. I don't know why Sai and Shivangi did so many IVs if the show was about to be axed. Bechare they did so many IVs on their one day off which they got after 28 days of shoot or so.

I feel it is more of Sickand not having resources to manage 2 shows is the reason he is closing MHRW. Since he has 3 weeks time, I think he will close it off at a higher note and move on to his new baby. Anyway this show is lined up for remake for other SP sister channels - like Star Marathi and Star Kannada. So he probably will have milk the cow till it works with this story and move on to newer show.

They're cutting this version of MHRW but will still go ahead and make remakes of this same version for the sister channels??????

How well do regional shows actually do in India? I never even knew there were regional shows until this year (I'm not indian).

I stopped ITV after IPKKND/Geet/Madhubala era and came back for some parts of Ishaqbaaz and then stopped again. 🤣

But was there ever an ITV show that DID end well? OR, that had an entire run that was done well?

I'm racking my head and can't think of anything. 🤣🤣

Fria our choices are same.. I've seen Geet MB and IB. Rest of the shows I've never been invested and watched like a trp audience. Hahah

Yeh hai Mohabbatein and yeh hai chahatein were EK shows and SS was a creative head. He's headed EK shows for 2 decades uffff...

LOL! Same! Randomly an ITV show will catch my eye (mostly bc of IG - I already have my eye on 2 of them) but I rarely get so invested.

Fria, as far as I've seen, most of the remakes that SP picks up are very popular on their regional networks, be it Telugu, Marathi, Bengali or something else. The top three TRP shows of SP rn (you know which ones lol) are all remakes of very popular Bengali versions that earlier aired on Star's Bengali network. Same with Sasural Genda Phool which used to air several years back. It works for regional channels because TRP isn't that big of an issue for them (in fact, I don't think TRP is an issue at all) and the demographics is different. Honestly, I've seen terrible shows going on for 4-5 years aaraam se because they don't have such a TRP rat race like these mainstream channels. This is why SP probably thought it was an untapped market they could take advantage of because (IMO) a) it would attract some of the regional audience as they'd be getting their same favorite content on a different platform and b) it would attract the non-regional viewers for whom it's all new content. Why bother coming up with fresh concepts when you can take the tried and tested route lol😆
