Gotta say though, Ekta knows how to sell her product and her brand. Chahe jitni bhi bakwaas likhe, her conviction is unmatched and she doesn't cheap out on her marketing budget. Sikku toh ek hi show mein itni kanjoosi dikha raha hai, aage jaake kya banega iska??!

I agree Masin. She knows how to promote her content so even the trashiest things get hyped up and grab good numbers. I think it's also because she can afford it. She has carved out such a strong place for her in the ITV industry that people think twice before crossing her. She has ALT Balaji at her disposal, an OTT platform of her own so she is not really dependent on the channels the way many other creatives are. As for the content, she gets the pulse of her TV audience. I've seen her saying this in several interviews that she creates shows keeping a particular target audience in mind--jo saas-bahu, planning/plotting, ott drama, shaadi-leaps-EMA-pregnancies-miscarriages and all other masala dekhna chahte hain. It's not like she can't make different and original shows but that's reserved for ALT because that has a different audience base. Baaki creatives ka masla yeh hain ke they want to come up with original stories but then have to compete with the ghisa pita tracks of other TRP shows across different channels.
