What is Simba’s problem?

Why does he talk like he’s stuffed something in his mouth? It feels like his voice is delayed / strained and his jaws don’t move while talking. How on earth does this guy even express himself?

He has put a dimba in his mouth that's slowly hatching. He has to take care of it till it fully hatches and the chick comes out.
