I am sad that there is no discussion on such shows and its episodes

if it is saas bahu, one man 1000 wives, illegal affairs then we say n number of discussions..

disappointed

Yeah that's another thing. I came to the forum so that I can discuss the show. But saw the forum is not open yet and commented on the post that I saw. I would love to discuss about the show in the main forum.

I was very much active in many historical shows like CAS, Jodha Akbar, Peshwa Bajirao, Ranjit Singh, Prithvi Vallabh as I love historical/historical fiction shows. That was the main reason I gave a try to this one too. So far I am not enjoying it. I really had a lot of expectations from Kalyani. 😕

The show just started..it take time to execute with perfection..Danny sura was good as fletcher and so is sulagna as buxi wife..

Today they showed a true bond between wife and husband.. dedicated and supportive to each other..These actors are new to hindi television and have to give time to adjust and settle in character..

Anyway its just my opinion..

It also depends on how the show is made. Prithviraj Chauhan was a household name. This is because the makers had a good story with great execution. Everyone played their part well in the show ❤️

Here, the execution is lacking. The CGI effects are a joke and Sharad seems to be the only actor who is acting well. I don’t find the character exciting, but Sharad usually acts well. The rest of the cast are just not upto the mark 🤷‍♀️

Looks like the main reason for Buxi Jagabandhu’s popularity as Orissa’s hero against the East India Company and the British Crown is his role in the Paika Rebellion. Even after his defeat, he reorganises the remaining forces in the jungles and tries to defeat the British with indigenous guerilla tactical warfare. So this is his main role. I don’t think he was known for his love. Of course, don’t know what all the makers will show with their creative liberty. All depends on what the trp ratings of the show are… if they aren’t good, which I fear they won’t be.. the makers may divert from the original Buxi story.. which is never a good thing to happen to a period drama.

Don’t know where this warrior Princess Kalyani fits. She looks to be a fictional heroine.. or maybe from some other time.. if someone knows, feel free to correct me.

I agree with your opinion. I saw the first episode of this drama, and the casting of both female leads, in my opinion, is lacking. Princess Kalyani should have been a known actress with a fiery spirit, but this one disappointed me. No offence, but both female actors don't seem to gel well with Sharad in my view, I see a lack of natural chemistry between them. Writers could have easily layered up main male lead character, this one seems little bland.

If you don’t mind my quoting this post of yours, I just read up on some of the actors, and interestingly both the female actors are from Orissa, and that is where this story of Buxi Jagabandhu and his rebellion against the East India company was based. I think the makers thought it best to take native actors who won’t have problems with their native Odia dialect.😊 I don’t think the chemistry with Ssharad was taken into consideration. That’s why there is a mismatch as regards the chemistry.

Hopefully the writers will use their creative liberties and show something historical. But unfortunately nothing much is known about Buxi other than his pivotal role in the rebellion against the British. So don’t know how many ‘layers’ in Buxi would be shown..

Edit: I am sorry, Hemal Ingle who plays Kalyani isn’t from Orissa. She is a Maharashtrian actress. Please feel free to correct me.. don’t know much about her. The other actress Sulagna is from Orissa. Apologies. 🙏

So the 1st week’s episodes are over, and frankly the episodes on Friday and Sat have been better than the earlier ones, in terms of acting and the fighting stunts choreography. I enjoyed the stunts between Fletcher-Buxi and Buxi-Kalyani. They were the highlights of Friday’s and Sat episodes. Even the grumpy, jealous step brother is doing a decent job. The story is moving at a decent pace, compared to Monday’s episode, where they rushed and pushed and made it difficult to enjoy the episode. Ssharad is still easily the heart and soul of the show. His scenes are the ones that make the show watchable. His emotions- be it the anger, pride, ferocity, sadness… he has done a tremendous job.

The makers are doing a great job of showing how the Eng were able to rule over us for over 2 centuries with so many traitors within. I am not very hopeful of the show enjoying a decent run. Hopefully the channel doesn’t interfere much. Such period dramas need to be encouraged. Bollywood shouldn’t be the only medium to showcase the story of our valiant freedom fighters. 🙏

I did watch it. It may just be me but I don’t see the chemistry between Baxi-Kalyani so far Not even in the tashan scenes.

The story has improved certainly. I can atleast make out what’s happening and ignore majority of the bad special effects. Hoping I begin to like it, because Sharad is one of my favourites 🤞

I found more chemistry between fletchy and Kalyani in their scenes. If she wasn't going to marry Buxi Ji in the show I would have shipped them. Buxi ji has good emotional bonding with radhamani but with kalyani even that is not there. It's not a romantic show but they should have atleast taken care of chemistry part. We have seen sharad and surbhi's chemistry. Wo to dur dur tak nahi hai yaha.

I really liked dressing sense of radha, she looks so elegant. But kalyani dont look like a princess, neither she behaves like one. Radhamani is gonna win hearts with her beautiful potrayal of devoted wife.
