Yes they're. & malhotra didn't cry throughout the show over his past though his story was much interesting than this. He didn't become mcp because his mother was pathetic. He didn't become bewda because he had a dukhiyari past. He did fight/ argue with nandu but end of the sat together & talked, tried to understand her point. That is what malhotra is.
& nandini, she didn't take his shit, always kept her point calmly even when they're in a rough phase of a relationship.

Exactly! Despite the romantic scenes, Manik and Nandini had really meaningful talks. It was never one way. Manik listened to her, so did Nandini. They made mistakes, but they learned and grew from it together. Yehan pe toh they fluctuate to extremes.
Manik has never ever let his past and his family inflict a pain on his friends or his girlfriend. He had anger issues but he was never the kind to blame somebody for what his life turned out to be.
Manik cannot be compared with anybody on ITV.

Let me tell you an incident, before the covid I got to know some of my colleagues made derogatory comments on my figure & look. But all of them are really talented people (professionally). & yeah I was hurt & disgusted. But still worked with the same creeps. Because I literally had no option. But I've done my part, raised voice. That's how life is you just can't say 'hey life, I'm done with this'. Face it & smash the face of misogyny.

& manik was not someone who will be like oh I'm in a pain let's blame this on earth. He had anger issue, he was impulsive, was violent but that show didn't romanticize that. They didn't say oh let's blame his past. & most amazing thing was he was aware of his shortcomings & tried his best to be the better. Here toh male lead never learnt anything from his mistake, repeating same shit. All the redemption was show off, nothing else.
