I think there is two side

U are engaged/married to someone and this third person is after u. What do u do? Say no yes, but the no wala needs a reason as to why. After a point the truth is revealed. Sadly no means yes is a thing today so maybe to cut the drama short reason should be revealed.

May be I got biased towards my friend. But see we were in a college, he deliberately hided about being married to everyone around for WHAT? Chupata nehi tho yeh sab hota hi nehi. Specially when he knew Ki there is that girl who feels something for him.

Yup more power to her. Can't even put into words how she was standing looking at that register where his status was mentioned as married.

If you are saying no... Give her/him the reason to believe that it's indeed a no NOT because it's your fundamental duty 😆 You have every right to hide it. But if you give the reason it MAY HELP that other person to MOVE ON.
