Kannada and telugu are really similiar In that regard , also one of my grandmom is from Andhra n most of friends so I can understand telugu

Yeah Telugu script and Kannada script is similar. I am a Maharastrian but my schooling and my growing up all was in Andhra. That is why I know Telugu. My husband is a Maharastrian but from Bangalore.
