"Who are you?....why have you brought me here?....please mujhe jaane do" Pallavi pleaded, the person who was standing there still didn't respond. He walked towards her while Pallavi stepped back seeing his scary mask from up front. Pallavi was scared as she clenched her saree.
The person took out a key from his pocket and opened the door of the jail. He stepped in and moved towards her while Pallavi stepped back. Seeing her afraid he started laughing which startled Pallavi, his voice didn't seem like a normal human voice it was more like an auto tuned which made her even more scared.
He started talking "Pallavi Raghav Rao....Raghav Rao ki biwi....or should I say.....his biggest weakness" hearing that Pallavi got shocked "tu-tum.." she was afraid to speak. The person again laughed "kya hua dar lag raha hai.....Mrs Raghav Rao dar gayi.." he chuckled.
Pallavi was frightened but she tried to control her expressions, he again spoke "You can consider me as one of husband's enemy....foe whatever you want to call....I don't care" he moved a bit more closer "but for now lets keep our introduction aside.....and lets talk about business....shall we" he spoke as he sat on the big block of cement which was considered to be bed for prisoners.
"Tumhe pata hi hoga ki tumhara pati illegally kaam karta hai...right", he looked at Pallavi "tumhe bas chota sa kaam karna hai, tumhe jo kuch bhi Raghav ke business ke baare mai pata hai.....voh tumhe mujhe batana hoga....simple right.....aur uske baad tum azaad". Pallavi was standing there horror-struck, she was not even breathing properly, she looked at the person "tu-tum kya bol rahe ho mujhe kuch.....mujhe Raghav ke business ke baare mai kuch nahi pata" Pallavi spoke as his eyes which was the only visible thing under his mask were staring at her.
"Seriously...now you're going to play with me with that lame excuse" he spoke as he stood up and came forward and banged the wall pinning her while Pallavi didn't even realize how many steps she took back. He came close to her face grabbing her chin "fine...you want to play with me", he released his hand from grabbing her chin and went away seeing him go Pallavi plopped on the floor.
Meanwhile Raghav came home distraught, his eyes didn't have life. Amma came running. She kept looking at the door "Raghav...Pallavi kaha hai" she asked, "amma...Pallavi nhi mila...pura sheher dundh liya..." and before he could finish "nahi mila matlab....Pa-Pallavi" amma was choking while Raghav tried to calm her down, he made her sit and signed Rajan to bring her a glass of water "tu ek kaam kar.....tera voh commissioner, DGP sabko bulake call kar....mujhe mera Pallavi ghar mai hona chahiye...bas.." that's when Farhad came from behind "amma...maine call kardiya hai....aur aap chinta mat kijiye bhabhi jaldi aa jayegi" Farhad assured amma.
Farhad shifted his focus to Raghav "Anna...the commissioner said he'll call you if they get any information" Farhad said while Raghav nodded, he searched for his phone that's when he remembered he left his phone in the bedroom when earlier he went to take the keys. Raghav signaled Farhad to take care of amma while he went upstairs to take his phone.
Raghav was mentally exhausted, all kinds of thoughts were going through his mind, and somehow he was controlling himself. He was on the verge of breaking down. He stepped inside his bedroom and saw that his phone was on the side table, Raghav picked his phone that's when he noticed a folded letter. He again kept the phone aside and picked the letter. Raghav slowly opened the letter to find Pallavi's handwriting, the letter had marks of her tears which smudgedsome alphabets. He mustered his courage and started reading it....
Raghav,
Thank you.....was the first word I could think of right now. You were the source of all the good things in my life. Thank you, mere zindagi mai aane ke liye. Thank you mere khushiyo ko naam dene ke liye. Thank you meri har zarurat ko apni zarurat samajhne ke liye. And most importantly Thank you for being born. We've been through so much together, and I wish I had several lifetimes to live so I could live every single one with you. I may seem like I am always mad at you or sad, but I promise I am not. You make me happier than anyone else ever has or ever will. And I love you more than anything in this world. I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you for who you are, not who the world thinks you should be. And the only regret of my life is that I have not said I love you often enough.
I wanted to be there beside you fulfilling your dreams-- encouraging you every step of the way. I wanted to make you smile when you were having a bad day. It's not always about what you can do for me but also what I can do for you. In my opinion that's love. But I guess my love didn't match yours. And before I forget.....Agar maine tumhe kabhi bhi hurt kiya ho....jo ki mujhe pata hai ki maine kiya hai....voh bhi kayi baar....then please forgive me. I just didn't wanted anyone to separate us....par kismat ka khel dekho....shayad humara safar sirf itna tak hi tha.
Apna khayal rakhna aur khaaskar Amma ka dyan rakhna....voh jab tension ya dukhi hoti hai toh apna medicine khana bhul jaati hai....aur rahi baat Keerti ki toh mujhe pura yakeen hai ki voh dheere dheere samajh jayegi.
I wanted to write so much more but pages khatam ho jayenge so last but not the least second page pe sign kar dena....aur tum mujhse azaad ho sakoge. And by the time you'll read this letter I'll be long gone.
Raghav turned the page to find divorce papers which were already signed by Pallavi. As his words came back to him "iss ghar ka ek-ek kheel mere paise se aaya hai....aur agar tumhe mere paiso se problem hai....sab kuch chod dho....sab kuch chod ke chale jao...niklo iss ghar se"
Raghav's breathing started getting heavy as tears were flowing nonstop. Farhad came "anna voh amma aapko....ANNA!!!" Farhad shouted as Raghav fell on the floor.
