I beg to differ here. On one side, you are saying that you are progressive but on the other hand you are wanting her to change her looks just to show her so called progressive nature and to make vanraj jealous.
Should'nt clothes be more about comfort and personal choice, more than just blindly following the fashion?
And comparing her dressing sense with your maids is taking matters a notch too far.
Cotton sarees are worn by many people in government jobs or otherwise as well. Doesn't mean that they aren't progressive or still stuck in age-old norms. Maybe they find it comfortable just like some find leggings, shorts, suits, jeans, etc as comfortable.
Simplicity is also elegance.
If Anupaama was wearing her night dresses or pyajamas to office, I would have still understood because different occassions ask for an unspoken dress code. But sarees are just as formal as trousers or coats.
Plus, exploring is also a personal choice. You dont find a character relatable or like the character only by the dress they wear, but from their behaviour and attitude.
Some people love dressing up in all kinds of dresses, some just believe in basic and simple clothing. Neither is wrong. Its all about personal choice.
