Yes before marriage he lived a adventures life by doing illegal business, hungry for money, dwelled on power. After marriage he toned down on that phase but don't want to give away anything even he also knows it's consequences. Truth to be told we all change after marriage. We try to understand our spouses and find common grounds for a happy married life. Pallavi was trusting his promise so that's why she didn't have any problem but now when everything is out in open she has all the rights to stop him going on wrong path of self destruction.
