She isn't evil... She is selfish but not as extremely... She lives in a world where a woman needs a lalla in her lap and sindoor in her maang for any type of respect and has been brought up to believe the same. So she protects that status with all she has and is lashing out at having it taken away... That isn't evil behaviour...
