Depends how strong the person is. Some people are very strong emotionally and mentally to not let their sufferings be known to any other. Koel is one such.

She might break down the day Nikhil probably gets to see what his mom is going through like may be his dad gets to know where they are and then creates tamasha in academy and Nikhil then gets to know his dad's reality and mom's suffering
