Chapter 38: Arjun's Happiness 

Recap:  Shiva is caught, M.K gives the sword, Sakshi gets trained by Arjun, Liza gets trained by Ayesha Chotu, Sword is fake, All get ready for Jaipur.

Sameer soon gets in touch with Coelho, and their tickets for the same day evening Jaipur flight gets booked. Now Sameer took the responsibility of getting Arjun and the family to patch up. And it was time for Arjun to be happy and Sameer would make sure of it.

All leave for home as they have to leave for Jaipur soon. Sameer leaves a message as soon as he sits in the car informing his brother, Samar about their arrival. Arjun is worried and nervous enough to not even speak a word. "Agar unhone mujhe maaf nahi kiya toh? Main maasa ko nahi kho sakta." he was silently pleading to the universe to not let this relationship go down. When it seemed that universe replied back.

"Maasa hai woh. Maaf kar degi. Bas tum thoda maar khaane ke liye taiyaar ho jaao." Arjun was baffled and he stared at Sameer as he had rightly guessed what Arjun was thinking and it seemed like Universe's affirmation.

Arjun who is too short for words to express, gestures "Kaise?" and nods his head in denial. "Aisa hi hoon main." Sameer smirks and drives off to their residence.

Here at Ayesha's home all are busy packing. Ayesha just stuffs all her clothes in the bag when Sakshi and Liza narrow their eyes, staring at her. She grins sheepishly and takes out all the clothes from the bag and folds it neatly.

"Hum jaante hai Ayesha tum Rajasthan jaane ke liye bohot excited ho. Lekin packing toh theek se karo.." Liza states with a chuckle and shares a wink with Sakshi.

Ayesha looks at them deeply baffled with their words. "Aree itna shock hone waali kon si baat hai. Sameer ki maa se milne jaa rahi ho toh excitement toh banta hai! Hai na?" Sakshi hits Ayesha's shoulder in a teasing manner.

Ayesha disbelievingly looks at them and continues to pack her bag. "Waise jab unn se milogi na tab pair chu lena aur aashirwad le lena. Theek hai." Sakshi jokes and both the girls leave a flushed Ayesha behind, as they continue with their packing.

Ayesha lets them enjoy for sometime after which she gets up with a smirk and looking at them, especially Sakshi she says "Waah Sakshi! Tum toh jaise excited ho hi nahi. Hai na?!" Now Ayesha and Liza shares million dollar smiles.

"Pair toh tumhe chune chahiye. Arjun sir ki bhi utni hi maasa hai woh. Hai na Liza?!!" Ayesha teasingly asks Liza and Liza in full confidence "Yes yes!"

Soon this leg-pulling session stops when the doorbell rings. Hope had to go to the care and so Sameer's acquaintance had come to take him. All came out realising that now for somedays Hope is not going to live with them. The girls snuggle him and give him a tight hug before letting him go. Shree and Chotu too join the emotional hug.

Hope goes with the person happily as he knows his parents will come back soon to take him. All bid him an emotional good-bye after which they go inside and finish their packing.

They had to go to ETF office and report. From where they would be dropped at the airport. Sameer and Coelho looked after all of it.

They report to their seniors on time and with all the luggage stuffed inside the minivan, they are ready to go to the airport. Arjun's heart was palpitating wildly, hence he sat in a corner placing his hand over his chest and memorising whatever he had to say whilst eyes closed.

Roshni was sitting inside the car decked up in a traditional attire with light make-up over her face. The sunlight enhanced her beauty to a much greater extent and Arjun was unable to take his eyes off her. She did not pay attention as she was nervous and was fidgeting, as she had to meet maasa as Arjun's better half. SamJun as usual were taking full advantage of the situation.

"Roshni dekho jab maasa se milogi na tab unke pair teen baar chuna. Wahan ki parampara hai." Arjun held Roshni closer to himself as Sameer was making her extremely concious, and the last thing they would want is Roshni breaking the alliance.

"Aur haan Roshni tum toh jaanti hi ho Rajputo ka parivar kitna bada hota hai. Sab se tumhe aise hi milna hoga." Arjun with great difficulty managed to stay serious but seeing Roshni's blown out face, he couldn't hold back himself.

Seeing Arjun laugh, Roshni understood the whole matter and started hitting the boys as hard as she could. But since they are officers, her slap felt like a feather's touch. That was because she didn't hit them with the intent of hurting them, and for that they have to thank their stars.

"How dare you Sam! Tumhari dost hun main! Aur mere saath aisa mazak?!" Roshni chided her best friend and Arjun also changed his party and came in her support. "Tum toh rehne do Arjun. Tum bhi pura maza le rahe the meri situation ka." she freed herself from his grip and sat at a distance from him.

Sameer gestured him to ask sorry, and Arjun slowly moved towards his cute angry bird "Roshni.. jaan!" he tried holding her hand, but she didn't let him.

"Aree!" he held her hand firmly as he explained "Jaan!! Maasa mujhse bohot pyaar karti hai aur yakeen karo mera woh tumse bhi utna hi pyaar karegi. She will treat you like a Queen." He rubbed the back of her palm to get her to ease herself.

He continued "Tum aise nervous mat ho. Aur tum kyun dar rahi ho? Tumse zyada perfect koi hai iss duniya mein!" He confidently stated and placed a light kiss on her forehead. Roshni's cheeks coloured in pink. This showed her happiness while listening to him and to control that she slowly placed her hair behind her ears and a soft smile took over her face.

"Haan Roshni! Maasa, kakisa, bhai aur bhabhi hi toh hai. Aur ab toh bhai-bhabhi ki ek choti si gudiya bhi hai. Tumhein inse dar lag raha hai?!" Sameer chuckled, to which he recieved a smack on his head from Roshni.

"Tumne kya kaha tha?" she questioned angrily "kitni badi family hai! Sab ke per chuna padega, woh bhi teen baar!" She tried to imitate Sameer but in vain, as both the friends again shared a hearty laugh.

"Dekho please kuch bhi karna lekin teen baar per mat chuna maasa ke. Maasa ko bilkul pasand nahi ki unke bahu-beti unke per aise pakde." Sameer seriously stated and Roshni nodded her head, taking note of it.

"Aur maasa bohot hi chill hai. Iss insaan jaise serious aur boring nahi." Arjun points at Sameer as he compares the two and Sameer nods his head in disbelief. Roshni chuckles at the comparison and Sameer's cute expression.

Arjun opened his eyes when he felt a hand on his shoulder only to see Sameer standing beside him. His heart was also heavy and it could be reflected in his eyes. Both the boys were missing Roshni more than ever. Sudden cloudiness stirred their hearts and their mind wandered off. The last trip they had to Rajasthan for Maasa was with Roshni, and after that neither she was there, nor SamJun.

The bags were fitted into the van and Shree called them. They wiped off their tears and walked up to them as though nothing happened and on looking at everyone Arjun realised that one officer is missing. "Sakshi Anand kahan hai?" Arjun asked others.

Chotu and Shree rolled their eyes at Sakshi's behaviour and the girls just shook their head in disbelief. "Sir woh watchman kaka ko bye bol rahi hai!" Chotu spoke up. Sameer-Arjun both were confused when Shree suggested "Sir aapke peeche dekhiye."

They did as told and the sight behind amused the two. "Kaka apni tabiyat ka poora dhyaan rakhna aur agar aapki dawayi khatam ho jaaye toh call karna, main bhijwa dungi. Aur haan khana please time pe kha lena. Main nahi hun isska matlab yeh nahi ki aap laparwah ho jaayenge." Sameer smiled at Sakshi's concern for every individual she comes across while Arjun just rolled his eyes in disbelief and took his seat inside the van.

"Sakshi jaldi.. warna der ho jaayega." He informed her and took his seat. She came running on this announcement after bidding watchman uncle a goodbye.

"Kya kar rahi thi itni der? Humne kaha tha na jaldi aa." Chotu asked as they could have suffered the brunt of this, if Arjun's mood had flipped.

"Sorry Chotu. Lekin kaka bata rahe the ki.." But before she could complete Arjun stopped her. "Agar tum logon ka koi plan nahi hai jaane ka toh it's okay! Main aur Rathore chale jaayenge. Jab hum aayenge tab resignation le lena table se."

Everyone's face got discolored and they rushed to take their seats. Sameer glared at Arjun, but he ignored it. Sameer had to sit behind with the juniors as Arjun had already taken the passenger seat beside the driver.  Chotu Shree Sameer sit behind the driver's seat and the girls sit behind them.

While boarding the flight, Sakshi realises she has to sit next to a creepy looking stranger and gets nervous. She looks at Sameer for help, but he excuses himself from there citing a call. Her friends also don't listen and get busy in arranging their luggage inside. She was about to cut it out and sit when, "Excuse me! Kya hum seats exchange kar sakte hai? If you don't mind!" Arjun forwards his ticket to the man, so that he takes note of the seat number.

Sakshi's eyes get stuck upon him. She had never imagined Arjun helping her out in this situation. Especially shifting seats with an unknown stranger for her, so that she doesn't feel uneasy throughout the flight. Sameer and the rest watch this cute moment unfold in front of their eyes.

The man at first refuses to accept the request but on one final request from Arjun, he gets up and moves to Arjun's seat. Arjun takes his seat and Sakshi takes hers. All others take their seat as the flight takes off in a short while, which gets them a step closer to the city.

Seeing the plane fly up in the air, Sakshi got a bit disheartened on not getting the window seat and hence regularly peeped outside, while trying to hide it from Arjun's eyes. Chotu, Shree, Liza and Ayesha smiled on seeing Sakshi's constant efforts to see the beautiful scenario outside.

"Jab kuch chahiye hota hai toh maang lena chahiye. Kya chahiye?" Arjun coldly asks and Sakshi looks at him nervously. "W-w-woh Window seat. Bahar dekhna hai.." She slowly speaks up.

"Utho!" Arjun orders and Sakshi gets upset at his statement. "Arjun it's okay tum..." She feels he is leaving her as he is annoyed by her behavior.

"Utho!" Arjun again orders and looks at her intensely. She gets up feeling disheartened, while Arjun moves out from his seat. Sameer and the others again look at the two and what they are upto. The only thing the chief is praying for, is that Arjun doesn't change his seat again. Chotu, Shree and Liza pray that Sakshi doesn't get upset and this flight is a smooth ride for her.

"Andar jaao." Arjun gestures Sakshi upon coming out. Sakshi stands shocked at a corner "Kya? Tum keh rahi thi na bahar dekhna hai, toh dekho!" Sakshi smiles as she takes over his seat while Arjun sits on hers.

"Thank you Arjun!" she says with a wide chirpy smile and he simply acknowledges it with a nod.

"Waise Arjun tumhe pata hai..."

"As long as kaam se related nahi hai, mujhe nahi jaan na." Arjun makes it crystal clear, and Sakshi just slouches back with a pout.

The flight landing happens at the given time and by the time they come out of the airport it's late in the evening. A cab waits for them outside and all just stuff their luggage and get inside quickly. The 1 hour of silence to reach "Rathore Sadan" was killing Arjun. He wanted someone to talk so that he can just forget that he has to face his family after a long time.

"Koi kuch bol kyun nahi raha?" Arjun asks and for the first time it was he who broke the silence. "Sir hum kya bole?" Shree asks nervously.

"Kuch bhi! Case summary bata do." All look at Arjun surprised. He was such a person who preferred silence over words. He believed without saying anything a lot could be told and always followed that. But, for the first time he wanted to hear people talk.

Sakshi clearly understands whatever is going on in his mind and hence starts talking "Ayesha..."

But to everyone's surprise the car stops in middle of the road and there is no other vehicle nor human who was travelling through that road, to ask for help. Sameer and Arjun check, but they find nothing. After a lot of brainstorming, the driver calls up a mechanic and he arrives to the location in 30 minutes.

"Jaldi aa gaya!" The driver took the tool kit from the mechanic.

"Haan aana hi tha. Police waalon ka mamla tha na." mechanic replies in a slow voice.

"Waah tujhe police waalon se bohot lagaav hai."

"Tu jaanta hai na, khabri se ek mechanic main police waalon ke badaulat hi bana hoon. Unhone hi mujhe garage setup karne mein madad ki, woh bhi itni door. Yeh nayi zindagi unhi ki den hai." The mechanic identifies the problem "Dekh taar hila hua hai." he shows it to the driver.

"Hmmm.." the driver continues "Waise uss police officer ka naam kya hai jissne tujhe yeh nayi zindagi di hai."

"Ishwar Kapoor hai unka naam." And as soon as mechanic finishes with the statement, he hears a roar. Roar much more ferocious than that of a lioness.

"Neeche rakh saare tools. Naahi teri naahi tere uss police officer ki madad chahiye humein." Ayesha blasts and everyone close their eyes in fear. Sameer-Arjun are shocked at this site of Ayesha.

"Ayesha!" SamJun call her out, but she doesn't listen. She angrily walks towards the driver-mechanic duo.

"Maine kaha na ja yahan se. Main theek kar dungi yeh van. Lekin mujhe uss insaan ki madad ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. Bata dena unhe."

"Didi aap yahan? Sorry dekha nahi aapko." Mechanic apologises addressing her as didi. Ayesha shoots sharp and burning glares at the mechanic while he stays calm and tries explaining himself.

Sameer-Arjun look at their juniors for explaination. Shree notices that no one started and hence he himself gives a brief.

"Sir woh Ayesha ke bade papa ka naam Ishwar Kapoor hai. Woh Coelho sir ke dost bhi hai aur Ayesha unhi ke saath kaam karti thi Delhi Intelligence Bureau mein. Aapki madad bhi ki hai na unhone!" Sameer and Arjun both nod as they heard his name from Coelho's mouth the last time he and Raghu came.

"Phir ek case ke dauran enquiry ke time, suspect ne lock up mein dum tod diya aur saara blame Ayesha pe aa gaya. Woh thi lock up mein issiliye." Liza continued from where Shree left.

Sakshi took a deep breath as the next part was difficult "Woh pura department Ayesha ko permanently suspend karane ki baat kar raha tha. Lekin phir punishment posting se baat ko nipta diya officials ne. Unko bhi Ayesha pe bharosa nahi tha issiliye unhone usse Mumbai bheja Nadiya bana ke as a punishment."

"Ayesha ko aaj bhi lagta hai ki unhone usse ghar se nikala aur sheher se bhi, issiliye woh unse aaj bhi gussa hai. Aur unka naam sunte hi uska para chad jata hai." And here Chotu completed with the briefings.

Both Ayesha and the mechanic's verbal spat did not stop. Ayesha stopped him from doing any work and he being stubborn continued with his work.

"Yeh Ishwar Kapoor waali harqat mere saamne na hi karo toh acha hai. Warna dekh lena." she warns him being very loud and clear.

He drops his tools there and turns to look at her "Didi aap ek kaam kar lene. Lakshman sir ko call karo aur boliye unhe ki mujhe aaj hi wapas Delhi bula le. Main yahan se abhi chala jaunga." Ayesha is unmoved.

But then seeing him pick his tools again, she calls Lakshman, her ex-junior. He and Ashfaq, her another junior, both were being trained by Ayesha and her colleague a.k.a Best Friend Aryan.

She angrily calls him up and as soon as he picks up the call, she gets involved in talking to him. Here, mechanic Rakesh finishes with his work and escapes from the clutches of the lioness. He doesn't say a word to any of her team members, instead takes a flower from the ground and attaches it to the windshield.

Ayesha sees him leave but doesn't react. She realises that she reacted too hastily and hence keeps quiet. On coming back to her team, she sees that SamJun have no questions for her and looks at her friends.

She understands that they know everything now and hence doesn't speak much. Driver turns on the ignition, and the car starts. All take their seats when Ayesha notices a flower on the windshield. She smiles looking at it and keeps it with herself.

Soon all reach their destination, when Ayesha does the same what mechanic did. "Agar tum uss mechanic se mil rahe ho toh usse yeh de do." She takes a leaf and gives it to the driver. "Aur agar usska number hai tumhare paas toh mujhe de do."  He gives her the number and leaves from there.

All smile looking at Ayesha's this side. When she lost her control she looked very different, but now she is back to her "original self". "Ishwar pa ke naam se kitna affect hoti hai na yeh." Shree states and all agree with him.

All of Ayesha's friends address her family the way she addresses. And same applies to Shree and Liza's family. It's like a one big family. At first they were hesitant to accept the change, but now they call Liza's mom, Hazel mom. Shree's family, the way he addresses them and Ayesha's family, the way she addresses them.

All go inside when Sameer who was walking behind them just disappears in thin air. They realise this after Arjun rings the bell, as all search for him. Knowing that Arjun and maasa won't talk to each other if he is there, Sameer had asked his bhai-bhabhi to arrange for a lateral entry.

And bhai also got a new idea to annoy his younger brother. Sameer reached the place where he was asked to come and searches for an entry "What the hell! Ghusun kaise?" Sameer clenches his jaw on knowing that he has been fooled.

Meanwhile a peanut hits him and angrily looks up "Chote! Main hun na.. Fikr mat kar!" He throws a rope towards him, which Sameer catches hold of, swiftly.

"Not bad chote!"

"Bhai yeh kya harqat hai?" Sameer asks in a low voice, aware that Arjun can't know he has to face Maasa alone.

"Acha devar ji.. harqatein toh aapki samajh nahi aati humein. Arjun ko akela chod diya, Haan?" A woman comes giggling at the antics between the two brothers.

"Bhabhi agar main wahan hota na toh dono mujhe mediator bana dete. Aap toh smart hai na, please understand!" Sameer requests and hops onto the rope with a smirk, as he indirectly took a jibe at his brother.

Bhai gets a hint that Sameer purposely did not include him in the "smart people" list "Ayee!! Kya matlab "aap toh"? Rassi kaat dunga main." Bhai gives an ultimatum to Sameer and the Bhabhi-Devar duo try not to laugh.

Sameer finally manages to climb up to the top floor balcony of a two-storey bungalow. He rests whilst sitting down and drinks water from the jug Bhabhi brought for him.

Samar and Pooja Rathore: Bhai-Bhabhi of Sameer-Arjun. Samar, the eldest son of the family is managing babasa's business since a long time. Arjun and he often gang up to irritate and mock Sameer, for his unpredictable nature.
Pooja works in the same office as the supervisor head and is terrific in her job. The board members feel there is no one much efficient than Pooja in the supervision division. A doting daughter, wife, sister and mom as Rathore's don't use labels such as in-laws. The two are parents to 12 year old Aarti Rathore.

Here, Maasa calls Samar and Pooja on hearing the doorbell ring. But, Sameer stops them from going, so that she herself opens the door for Arjun. "Hey bhagwan! Itni raat ko kon hai?" she questions herself while walking to the door.

Arjun's heartbeat rises again on not finding Sameer next to him. He doesn't know what he will talk to maasa, how he will apologise. Facing his feelings, his fears, was something which he forgot to do in these many years. It was always easy when he knew he had the support of people he loved, and here he thought Sameer will be there as his guide aka friend to convince Maasa.

Unable to control his nervousness he decides to go away, when Sakshi stops him by getting in his way. "Hato Sakshi!" He orders, but Sakshi refuses to leave.

"Arjun please! Thodi himmat kar lo. Don't worry main hun..." she briefly pauses "I mean hum hai!" she continues. "Tum chinta mat karo. Woh tumhe jaldi maaf bhi kar degi aur sab kuch pehle jaisa hoga." she slightly holds his arm, asking him to turn towards the door.

"Roshni ke bina kuch pehle jaisa nahi hoga." He states as he turns to the door and Sakshi nods with a smile. Ayesha, Liza, Chotu and Shree feel sad for Sakshi. They didn't know Arjun would add something like this and to their surprise, Sakshi will react like this. But as long as she was happy, they were more than happy.

Ayesha and Liza gather her in a small side hug and as soon as the door opens, they let go of each other and focus on maasa and Arjun.

Supriya Rathore: A strong and sassy woman. Loves her family extremely and has always been protecting them from the bad. She doesn't mince with her words and is an extremely strong-headed person. This is Maasa for you all.
Unlike her husband, Dhamsingh Rathore who had a serious, calm and composed demeanour, Supriya is a rebel and a happy-go-lucky woman and is nowhere close to calmness. Polar opposite parents Sameer and Samar were brought up by. Samar went on to be like her while Sameer caught the traits of his father.

Maasa opens the door and is unmoved by the presence of Arjun. She ignores him and moves to the rest realising her sons have come for work and they are their team members. "Tum log thak chuke hoge. Andar Chalke aaraam kar lo." she takes their bags and gives them to the worker. "Yeh andar guest room mein rakh do."

She takes them and walks inside when she feels a pull on her dupatta. She doesn't look back, rather tries to forcefully leave from there. "Maasa please!" A soft request is heard.

Maasa stands there unmoved. She doesn't even turn around to look at her boy who is requesting her to look at him. The juniors think of leaving them in a lone space, rather than making Arjun and maasa both uncomfortable.

"Maasa, idhar dekhiye na.." Arjun slightly requests by pulling her dupatta again. "I am Sorry" he lowers his head and kneels down on the ground.

She knows what he is doing. She recognises every bit of him and his actions and hearing his quivered voice, she internally cries.

"Main jaanta hun maine aapko bohot dukhi kiya hai. Aapne humesha mujhe apna beta samjha aur maine aap sabhi ko ek jhatke mein paraya kar diya." Maasa's eyes gets filled with tears on remembering the days she tried to search and call Arjun. Her day would start with "Arjun will come today" and end with "he will surely call tomorrow".

She missed her Krishn-Kanhaiya, just like Yashoda maiya missed her Kanha when he left Vrindavan to fulfill his duties as the saviour of Dharma. Seeing him in front of her, she was shocked and could not believe her eyes, but then not seeing Sameer anywhere around, she knew that this was all his plan.

She doesn't move, instead stands there listening to Arjun. "Maasa.. agar main aa jata toh kamzor padta aur shayad aapko bhi bacha nahi pata. Lekin ab main aapse milne aaya hun. Kyunki main jaanta hun ki ab mere kamzor padne se kuch galat nahi hoga." Tears stream down their eyes and now maasa turns around to look at Arjun.

But since Arjun has his head lowered, he doesn't take notice of it. "Sorry maasa. Mujhse aur gussa mat rahiye na.. Aai se toh yeh umeed kar nahi sakta kyunki Mr. Rawate hai, lekin aap mujhe aise chodke mat jayiye. Maasa..." he fumbles as he speaks and in the next moment he feels the presence of hands on his cheeks. He lightly smiles and opens his eyes to see his maasa's endearing face.

Both mother and son wipe off each other's tears and embrace each other in a tight hug. "Shh.. shhh... Arjun tumse bohot naraz thi main kyunki tumne ek baar bhi apni maasa ko yaad nahi kiya. Tumhari fikr sata rahi thi mujhe, aaj bhi satati hai, aur woh issiliye kyunki tumse pyaar karti hun main. Tumhaare jaane se ek ajeeb darr mein jee rahi thi main. Lekin ab tum aa gaye ho na toh ab tum mujhse dur jaa hi nahi sakte." 

"Main jaanta hun." He softly chuckles and the two part ways wiping off their tears. Looking at Maasa, Arjun smiles sheepishly and again hugs her tightly. So tight that she loses her balance, but Arjun doesn't let her fall. Both get up and dust off themselves. All others watch the two being vulnerable and expressing themselves and their pain to each other. Though they couldn't hear anything, they could understand that everything is sorted.

Maasa brings Arjun inside, and he too comes in unaware of the pain he is going to face. 

"Owwww" Arjun's scream gets everyone to laugh. "Maasa yeh kyun?" he asks in pain.

"Kyun? Tumhe kya laga itni jaldi maaf kar dungi main? Mera signature punishment toh tumne jhela hi kahan hai.." saying so she tightens her grip over his ears and Arjun wails in pain.

"Maasa chodiye na. Aapka kitna pyara beta hun main."

"Acha ji!" saying so, Maasa sarcastically hits his shoulder and leaves him free. Arjun caresses his ears on being left and in few seconds pain too subsides.

"Ba Adab (with respect) Ba Mulahiza (Pay attention), Hoshiyaar (be alert)... Rathore Sadan ke Anuj (youngest) Shri Shri Shri Sameer Dhamsingh Rathore padhaar rahe hai." An announcement is made by Samar and Sameer is brought down the stairs in a typical melancholic manner. Sameer by now is saturated by all of this and is waiting to go to sleep.

Arjun and Sakshi laugh looking at Sameer's condition. The juniors also share a very controlled laughter so that they don't embarass Sameer further. Sameer is thrown gently in front of Maasa and he also doesn't utilise his energy to restrain.

"Pranam maasa." Sameer greets her by taking her blessings. "Too old school." Sameer glares at his brother who is now getting on his nerves.

"Toh feka kyun?" He roars.

"Kyunki tu mujhe akela chodke gayab ho gaya." Arjun states and Samar agrees with him. "Haan." Samar pats Arjun's back and both share a warm hug.

Soon the slow pats become loud "Bhai kya kar rahe ho?"

"Acha ji! Kya kar raha hun? Punishment le saale."

"Kiss baat ki?" Arjun questions in pain.

"Humein bhulne ki.. aage na yeh bimaari nahi hogi tumhe." Bhabhi chimes in and Arjun looks at her scrunching his eyebrows. The juniors look at each other and then at their seniors pitiful condition and pass smiles.

Sameer and Maasa both laugh at this, when she realises that she has not yet met Sameer properly.

"Maasa kya hai yeh?" Sameer's question draws everyone's attention to them. They see Sameer suffering the same fate as Arjun. "Chodiye please! Laal kaan kaise lagenge?" He questions as he pleads.

"Baar baar ghar se bhaagne ki punishment." Samar states clearly and Samar Pooja Arjun laugh.

The juniors and Sakshi are taken aback "Ghar se bhaagne ki?" Sakshi asks Arjun slowly.

"Haan woh Rathore, police officer ban ne ke liye ghar se bhaga tha. Aur phir Sikandar ke time se ghar aaya hi nahi. Beech mein main, Sameer aur aakhir aakhir mein Roshni aate the."

"Ma'am ne allow nahi kiya kya police mein bharti hone ke liye?" Liza asks timidly.

Maasa hears this question as there was a sudden silence when she left Sameer's ears "Aree pucha kahan mujhse inn janab ne? Khud hi socha aur khud bhaag gaya. Ek chitti chodke gaya tha, yeh bolke ki main jaldi aaunga ek officer banke."

"Aapne bhai ke saath office join karne ke liye kaha." Sameer complains as he takes a seat on sofa.

"Haan toh. Tumne mujhe bataya ki tum kya chahte ho?" Maasa sits beside him as she questions.

"Training letter haath mein tha aur mujhe laga ki aap mana kar dengi. Issiliye.." he leaves the rest to imagination.

"Waah janab ko laga.." she looks at Samar and he just nods his head in disbelief, just like Arjun and Pooja.

"Lagne ko bohot lagta hai tujhe chote."

Hearing all this and justifying oneself when in a desperate need of rest, he flips "I am sorry, phir se. Lekin mere hone, na hone se kya hi farak padta hai." he gets up and goes to his room to sleep, leaving everyone shocked.

"Yeh kya bola?" Maasa asks raising her eyebrows.

"Woh sir thoda thak chuke hai isliye thoda frustrated hai. I am sure he doesn't mean that" Ayesha tries to delete the matter forever while the others just look at her.

"Yeh kon hai?" Maasa asks Arjun.

Realising that they have not been introduced, Arjun starts introducing them.

"Ayesha! Right?" Maasa asks immediately after introduction and poor Ayesha gets intimidated by the question.

"Yess!"

"Sameer ko hum bohot ache se jaante hai. What he means and what he doesn't." she continues "Tum usski tarafdari na hi karo toh behtar hai." The juniors too get intimidated by her and stand still in a corner. But when she smiles and Pat's Ayesha's cheeks lovingly, all their apprehension disappears.

"Yes Ayesha. We know that Sameer meant whatever he said as it was in a normal tone. Not too high nor too low." Samar smiles at all of them as he lets out this secret of Sameer and maasa also cutely nods giving confirmation. Sakshi and Liza giggle.

"Shit! Mujhe yeh baat pata honi chahiye thi jab woh mujh pe atom bomb ki tarah phat raha tha." Arjun refers to the initial time in ETF when Sameer used to vent out his anger on Arjun every now and then. He did not mean those words, and this Arjun had to understand.

"Lekin tu bhi gusse mein tha na. Realise nahi hota gusse mein." Samar states whilst Arjun narrows his eyes, staring at him. "Okay sorry! Chote ki tarah nahi baat karunga."

"Good!" Arjun nods and Samar playfully raises his hand again to hit Arjun, he saves himself.

"Waise koi baat nahi. Apne senior ki tarafdaari karna buri baat nahi hai." Maasa smiles and side hugs Ayesha. This makes her freeze while others chuckle under their breath looking at Saasu-maa's love for her to-be daughter-in-law.

"Sorry dara diya na tumhe. Aur tum sab ko bhi." Maasa sheepishly smiles looking at them.. "Woh Sameer ka gussa tum logon pe nikal gaya. Maaf kar do mujhe." She holds Sakshi's and Liza's arm as she apologises to everyone.

"Aunty aapko maafi maangne ki zaroorat nahi hai. I know Sameer ka yeh bartaav gussa dila sakta hai." Sakshi smiles and so do others.

"Toh meri ek baat maanoge?" All nod in positive. "Tum sab bhi mujhe maasa hi bulaaoge. Thik hai?" She orders which makes Ayesha turn pale in colour. All laugh mentally as they could imagine Ayesha's turmoil. But for now to avoid the matter, and being a laughing stock she nods in a "yes".

"Okay maasa!" Other than Ayesha all excitedly agree. Arjun smacks his head as he knows that all are going to be a ruckus as Maasa is also a fun-loving person and will pamper everyone as long as they are in Jaipur.

"Yeh dekho kon hai.." Sameer comes out holding hands and Samar-Pooja Maasa smile looking at the two and there is a visible confusion on Arjun's face.

Shivani Kapoor: also called as Shivi. Mother of Ayesha Kapoor. A sweet caring and compassionate lady. Served as a nurse in Delhi hospital for a long time. All love her for her sensibility and sensitivity which she shows. Juniors ki maa.

Dr. Ajay Kapoor: Ayesha's dad and a general medicine doctor working in Delhi Government Hospital. Both Ajay and Shivani worked here together. Serious about health after being operated on for heart ailment in Mumbai. He is a family man and deeply loves his family especially Ayesha.

Hazel D'Cruz: Liza's mother. A strong independent woman who raised both her children to be independent and never fear the society. A single-mother whose husband left her and the kids for another woman, after which she kept her maiden name and even forwarded it to her children. Smart, sensible, honest, loving and caring, these adjectives describe her real well.

Aaron and Amelia D'Cruz: Elder son of Hazel D'Cruz. Bhaiya-Bhabhi of Liza urf Chipkali. Aaron has worked day and night to give his mother and sister a comfortable life. They had seen a lot of struggles in life and his success compensates all those sufferings.

Amelia has been a rock solid support to the family especially after Liza's death. She is daughter-like to Hazel and the most pampered and doted family member. Amelia comes across as a beautiful woman in and out. Her presence made the grief of losing Liza a bit less.

Dhruv and Jiya: Sameer and Arjun's long time best-friends. Met during Sameer's first bike-race in Goa and since then their bond is just strong. They might have not met for years, not even spoke, but whenever they meet, all they have for each other is love, respect and admiration.

Priya, Shreya and Aditya: Liza's childhood friends whom she loves a lot. They were her companions in childhood with whom she would share everything. Even though they got separated for the sake of higher education they would still be in touch with each other. They were the first people to know about Liza's love for Shree in college. Her death shattered them to the core and seeing her again was every bit emotional for them as it was for her.

Arjun is finally relaxed on meeting maasa and family. It feels happy to write his emotional scenes, as my man has suffered so much already.
The lost happiness will slowly make a way into his life. But can't promise "just like before" as the light urf Roshni is missing, instead I promise happiness.
Ayesha hates her bade papa 💔💔 God knows when they will reconcile.. 😢😢
