Him doing things legally is not a problem. He's not a hardcore criminal (I think), so it won't be a stretch and he's creative enough to find other ways to run his business and still make tons of money. He makes a huge profit by using diamonds that he gets at a lower price by not paying customs duty. However, his artistic designs, showrooms, brand awareness, etc. are all his. He could just as easily succeed in a new, legal business if he wanted to.
It may be a very difficult path now to change his business from illegal to legal. I know people in general export import do some sort of hera pheri but diamond smuggling is not that simple. There are a lot more checks and restrictions. As a don he would have developed and nurtured a network of corrupt people. From the smallest peon on the ground to powerful officials to ministers. It would not be easy for the RR to decide one-day that he is going legal. Whatever may be the motivation, people surrounding him may not allow him. For the corrupt, his money could be an important source of income. They might be banking on it to deal with some other black characters on their side. He would have to deal with blackmail, life threats, jail not only for himself but his employees as well.
Any of his own trusted members may rebel and they would be justified in saying - you did not think all of this was wrong earlier, why should we risk our life now by refusing to pay a small bribe just because your wife is not ok with this. His business is the livelihood of many people. Would he be ok to risk it all for the right way?
His designs may be his but his showrooms, reputation, brand awareness would be shot very badly. But what needs to be done has to be done.
What I don't like is Pallavi saying he faked all his generosity and 'goodness' just to hide his crimes, and making it seem like he doesn't care about her or prioritizes money over her. Heck, he was going to spend his entire life in jail just to protect her. Did she forget all this so easily? He never claimed to be an honest, upright man, nor did he ask her to advertise how good a man he was. That was all her doing so blaming him for it is unfair.
Yepp I also think that pallavi built up a too good raghav in her mind than he is. But such is love and she has always been shown as naive in love π
Think they both understand that he loves her enough to sacrifice his life for her or go to jail to protect her life. When it is a case of life and death, for sure he comes through but would he do the same for her integrity or her principles or their happiness.Imo he would, hopefully the makers do as well. Would he understand how important her integrity is to her and does she understand how important money is to him. Should be an interesting track if done well.
Also, she let Sunny come in between them and insult their relationship - this isn't the first time. Enemies always look for weak links and she served it to him on a platter because of her overconfidence and ego.
Anyway, Swachh Raghav Abhiyaan begins.
Love this phrase, can I please use this ππ
