Tumne koshish kiiii???😳

Agreed. It's not right what they're doing to Keerti. I was just trying to make sense of Raghav's temperament about this. I don't like it, but I can see why Raghav is even more agitated than he was before about his sister marrying Keerti. But his methods to get to his desired goal is wrong, and Pallavi pointed that out already. Raghav is progressive, but only up until the woman in question makes mistakes or is non-sensical. He won't touch Pallavi without her permission, but slaps Keerti left and right. It's because he holds Pallavi in high regard, but not his sister, not anymore at least.
He and Amma really do not think Keerti is capable of making her own life decisions and therein lies the real problem. It's a deep-rooted patriarchal way of thinking. "To protect, I must take away her free will. She cannot possibly know what is good for her.". That's exactly what Raghav is thinking right now.
I said this yesterday - they are rooted in a culture where the eldest male is often given decision-making "power" over the women in the house. And most especially sisters & daughters & wives. Where the sisters are expected to kneel to the decisions of their brothers, without so much as a peep. Raghav and Amma expect that type of
loyaltysubmissiveness from Keerti.
I hope this track changes Raghav's approach/thinking.
@bold: facts.
That sucks for your cousin. It's really the parents fault for enforcing things against the child's will. At the end of the day, desi parents have a really hard time understanding that children who are adults can make their own life decisions. We come from a culture that has a deep history of rewarding submissiveness or regarding submissiveness as a good, desired quality in women. So anything but that, is still a shock to the system. Even in 2021. We haven't outgrown that completely yet.
I did a similar thing. Went against my parents wishes and pleas and broke off my engagement a month before my wedding. Not because I loved someone else, but because I knew I didn't love the guy I was supposed to marry and his behavior kept getting worse and worse. I was told those exact same words "he'll change after marriage," just in a different context. Luckily, my parents came around and let me make my own life decisions. But it was hard for them to do that and took a lot of fighting and honest conversations to get them to come around. Some parents just care too much about what other people think, more than they care about the wellbeing and happiness of their own children.
@red..THIS!!!! You summed it up. Free will vs submissiveness.
@ orange- Awesome👏 I am glad you took that step and get your parents to listen eventually. I know in our society public reputation is given more importance than what our child is going through.
Glad it worked out for you..and hope you find someone worthy!!
Viewers ko bhi clear kr dia abhi sirf dost hi hai 🤣 vaise maine kahi padha log bol rahe hai Ahmad ki shaadi ke lie Pallu ready hui hai 🤣 kuch bhi 😆
Farhad ka logic

I'm not the one to fix stereotypes. But keeriti is an exception. Shaadi hogayi...chalo jao Chunny munny ke ghar pe.

Fria I have so much to say but you've pretty much covered it all so I will just be blabbering.
I'm so proud that you stood your ground and took your life decision yourself.
Let me share why Raghav feels he can control K but not P. It's because of how rooted our thinking is. My younger brother will point out and object if I wear short dresses (mini skirts) but won't do the same to his girlfriend. It's just that brothers feel they have a right over their sisters because of a deep rooted patriarchy mindset and that is where Raghav comes from. He's always been this controlling with Keerti and her rebellion is understandable.
That’s also a problem 🤷♀️
