Basically in Parineeta, the ML made her wear nuptical chain which was supposed to for doll shaadi function. And they consummate as a evidence they are husband and wife.

Also in the last of the story, they didn't show the proper marriage and but he said to his mom, look your DIL has come. His Mom got it that they are married.
