Yes, he knew that Bondita was who he wanted to spend his whole life with, and she had become his jeene ki vajah, and later he would accept her as his wife... but that's because of the bond they shared -- it's divine, but in no way did he ever feel any lusty feelings for Bondita. Even now that she's older, he isn't daring to even think of her like that until she's ready.

For Anirudh, Bondita has always been his priority. She has always been the one who made him stronger, who brought out the best in him. Even though she was 12, she used to be mentally even stronger than him. However, she hadn't even grown to an age where he could see her in that way. Their bond was more based on companionship than any kind of sexual desires. This is what Anirudh realized -- that he wanted Bondita as his lifelong companion in the form of his wife, because he fell in love with what she was inside... not what she is outside. So yes, he had feelings, but not in a sexual way... rather he had fallen for the essence of her, and not for the form. He had fallen for the divinity in their bond, and had fallen for the foresight that he had that she would be the ideal life partner for him in the future.

The outside falling is only coming now.

This is why realizing his love fast isn't surprising, because the only type of falling now is falling for the grown up form. But they were connected in their core essence long back. Honestly, comparing this love to how normal human beings feel it isn't right, because their love is more of a divine kind. It's not about hormonal things like it usually is with regular couples.

I won't say your POV is wrong as it's your perspective, but I didn't feel the same way.

It's quite interesting that you bring this up now though because I was in the midst of writing a new story about how Anirudh and Bondita's love would develop if she had not been sent to London, and had stayed back instead. ❤️ What a coincidence. 😆

While not a big part, physical intimacy is always a part of a romantic relationship which needs to be ironed out.

Ani was always attracted to Bon's personality, her ideals, her thoughts. However I just felt that in the mirror scene, it was one of the few instances where Ani definitely thought 'she is beautiful'. And immediately was scared so he ran out.

Khair, one of the signs of the team's cleverness is how all these scenes have a full spectrum of interpretations where we can go from no romance to all romance in Ani's pre-leap feelings, based on what the viewer is comfortable with... So glad to know your interpretation.

@Bold, this I agree with fully. The grown-up romantic part of their relationship was the only piece of the puzzle remaining. All the rest had already been connected.

@UL, this too I agree with, Ani didn't spend time thinking about Bon that way, their relationship was a lot lot more than that. What thoughts came were occasional stray thoughts which were immediately shut down.
