Signing divorce papers does not mean divorce is given or approved. There are special laws within first year of marraige, and couple has to stay with each other minimum for 6 months to sign. Without that the signatures are invalid.

Also with what name they sign is important. So there will be many loopholes to use.

I understand all of that but my point is on the symbolism of it all.

Like P couldnt burn his picture (i would have been ok with that coz it actually in the larger scheme of things doesnt mean anything but for P she couldn't). Similarly, will she be able to sign the papers (even if baad main R finds any loop holes to nullfy the whole thing). Waise bhi Hindus can divorce and remarry the same person without any fuss

On divorce papers, I'm sorry, please joote mat maarna- but I like that Raghav signs them. It takes the stakes higher.

So far, he's been refusing to sign them, and him being RR, he can't be forced, thus allowing them to stay married. Pallavi can't refuse to sign, because then the game is up, after all usne khud file kiya for divorce.

This makes the situation so much more urgent, and will move the plot forward, it's been stuck for so long.
