We don’t wasre food, we put it in the freezer and after a week when my mom and I don’t have time to cook we take it out of the freezer. Also sometimes we cook two days in a row, but eat the leftovers for 2 more day’s.

Yeah. But lot of my aunt's are stay home wives. They just cook enough for the meal. Seperate meals are cooked for lunch and dinner.

Lol yeah we cook multiple things over the weekend and eat it throughout the week. If it's a lot, we will freeze it.

Even for parties, we may cook or prep certain things in advance so the house doesn't smell like "tell masalas" the day of the party😂😂

I think she just doesnt like cooking lol baking she loves though so we had a lot of desserts lol I think people should learn to cook coz they like to. I dont like cooking either but I can make some basic things and follow a recipe lol my sister didnt cook either but in recent years she has started to like it and tries all kinds of non desi recipes lol

P.s. I wonder if that's one of the reasons why there's this gap between older generation and newer. Our generation believes in being self sufficient, vs older generation believes in being respectful and pati Devta types of mentality.

When Wives of our generation don't do this for the husbands and they learn to be independent, mom's feel insulted that how dare DIL make their ladlas do some work.

The situation you describe it’s not very familiar for me. My parents have a modern thinking. When my mom married my dad, she was still working as a social worker, she didn’t do much household chorus on the weekdays. And my adji didn’t mind that. She was the one cooking for my mom when she came home from work. On the weekend my mom worked on the land with my dad and all his brothers.

When my parents moved to Holland and got children they always divided the task, the one who was early from work had to pick up the kids and cook. So my dad cooks, did the laundry, ironing clothes.

My parents are divorced but they still have a great bond, so when we go to visit my adjie my mom stays with her and my adji still cooks for my mom.

Coincidence yesterday I was talking with my dad, he has some cousins and they are very old minded with their thinking. They ars the same age as my dad 53. But like I cannot be with them and my dad has that also. My niece has a boyfriend and he is from the Arya Samajh and we are from Sanatan and now my uncle is bullying him and my niece, cause it’s a different believe. Like what the hell is wrong with you?!! He is a good boy, very nice, works hard has a degree! He takes good care of your daughter but you make it a problem.

I think you’re right! I don’t like it but yeah some places it still works like that.

I was very little but i remember watching it many times coz my sister and i liked the kabootar part lol Oh yeah that movie was so weird lol my parents didnt censor the movies we watched lol my parents also made me watch old yash raj movies like silsila and kabhi kabhi lol those i did enjoy coz i liked the music, my parent love music so i enjoy all types of it. All our road trips were filled with ghazals or noor jehan music playing lol
