yes I know CM was still happening then and that it still happens now as well 😔….but what I meant is that it definitely won’t be happening in Anirudhs house as he is opposed to CM…so it must be some conspiracy hatched by CHandrachur to lure Bondita ..probably shashwati has been kidnapped 🤔….. Technically, it takes a LONG time for such laws to be put into practice. Anirudh got it abolished but we still don't know what werebthe actual terms of the ban.
Even though CM was outlawed in 1929, it wasn't completely accepted by people.. Muslims protested against this and there were amendments made that with the permission of the girls guardian, it could be made possible. It was in 1949, I guess when the minimum age for girls was increased to 15 years old.
Waise aab bhi kya badla hai utna.. CM is still practiced in many places without the knowledge of law enforcement and now, we live in a modern era where it much easier to detect such illegal activities... but back in 1930s, I doubt they could really do much if some family did have a CM, they wouldn't know until someone places a complaint and people during those days were not exactly forward thinking.
